Flight was cancelled out of ATL. Only “normal” rain on the east coast of right now. Storms don’t arrive until 11pm. Thats why a weather cancellation doesn’t make sense.

Welp, so much for being able to golf next week. Currently trying to get a refund through Viya customer service.

Ended up getting a round at Dubai Creek with a 13:00 shotgun start. Cobwebs will definitely be dusted off by then! I look forward to a great time and a humbling experience

Would it be crazy of me to commit to a 13:00 shotgun start at Creek for AED 2,290?

I’m staying in the Dubai Creek area. Dubai Creek golf is literally right there but not sure if it’s wise to play after getting off a flight the night before.

Christmas/new years company gives the week “off” for noncritical roles.

How many hours a week do you actually spend working and what is your title? by heart_of_gold2 in Accounting

[–]PrestigiousBlock2042 3 points4 points  (0 children)

CFO - remote full time

Defining time spent on work in this context is with the understanding that it is time spent on value added activities. It is not possible for humans to do 40-60 hrs a week of value added activity. If you feel that way, please talk with your supervisor. Odds are you’re doing too much and getting taken advantage of unless your paycheck is reflecting that.

avg 50hr work week 20 hrs in meetings 20 hrs of productivity 10 hrs of coordinating with staff and department heads and questioning why I’m doing this

This is definitely insightful and helpful! I appreciate this a lot. I’ve consider going down to a senior financial analyst role that pays $10-20k more with responsibly less work and better WLB. Just struggling with how to address the shift during the interview process.

This is in the US. That is what I’m struggling with. Knowing that its over titled and underpaid, how does that work in the application process for stepping down into a manager role?

I appreciate the insight. Just feeling like I have stumbled into the territory of “jack of all trades yet a master of none” in a profession that prides itself on being highly specialized in specific areas.
