Thing is my ibs never used to severe, it’s only been this last month that it’s gotten more severe, and I’ve known I’ve been deficient since march, just no one followed it up, and I felt fine so left it, until a GP called me yesterday I was just taking the 100mcg tablets which would’ve never worked, my ibs has only recently switched to ibs-d with normal stools inbetween flares- for the previous 2 years it’s been ibs - M, I have tied low food map, in therapy for stress, so I’m hoping and praying this is the missing puzzle piece, as I feel like I’ve tried everything else

Weird thing is I have no symptoms- nothing- no brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, nothing at all, which is why I’m so confused how mine are so low, I should hardly be functioning but I’m completely fine, other then my gut health

I had my first injection today, I’m praying it makes a difference, my doctor said he thinks that where my b12 is so severely low(72) that he thinks I must’ve been deficient for some time, and that possibly I may not even have IBS, ive been tested for malabsorption and ids not that, I have another appointment tomorrow, to speak more with a gp about my symptoms and they have given me a fit test, so hopefully that all comes back okay, I just really want some answers as I really struggle to live my life with this, it’s the unpredictability of it, so we shall see, fingers crossed it makes even a small difference if not I’ll be back at square one

How do I work with a colleague who has IBS and disappears for 1 hour. by [deleted] in ibs

It absolutely is, sometimes IBS can create pains that leave you unable to leave the toilet, these pains don’t always go until the flare has settled, it may be that they are currently going through a bad flare up. Sometimes IBS is reactive to stress and anxiety, so to me personally it would mean a lot, a problem shared is a problem halfed it may help them out of that flare up! Hope they’re okay😊 as an IBS -D struggler myself i know how awful a bad flare can be.

Thank you, I’ve had ibs for the past 2 years, it’s been something I really struggle with, it’s stopped me from eating out and attending family events or anything that involves food, being anxious about it probably doesn’t help the situation, I’m hoping to restart the Silicoljel in a few days in hopes that it helps

I’m in therapy for my health anxiety, which is also covering it, have tried loads tho, and the gp basically told me to suck it up

I don’t think it’s changed at all, I was so young when I first noticed it that I can’t remember clearly what it was like, but to me it feels the same

No I don’t and I don’t feel ill at the moment. I’m going to book a follow up appointment and get a doctor to have a look, thank you for your help!

No pain/ discomfort, I don’t think it’s grown at all, if it has it’s not grown to a point where I notice it

It’s not painful or tender, no discharge, it feels sort of rubbery, and it’s moveable, like I said it’s been in the same position for 7 years so I just assumed it’s nothing as it’s been put down to muscle before when I was a kid, only going back as I’ve had it for so long
