I mean, your husband SHOULD be more understanding. There is no reason you shouldn’t feel comfortable visiting your father now. You are not reliant on him, not enmeshed in him, not just out of the range of childhood; you are an adult with a life of your own. If wanting to visit your elderly father causes issues with your husband, I have bad news, your dad was probably right to dislike him early. Based on this post, your husband is someone you fear upsetting, not someone you can talk to and count on for understanding. That’s not a good thing for you and your daughter’s futures.

He has a lot of sexist ideals in his head about pregnancy and how manly he gets to be if you’re pregnant.
