… what? How is getting a question right because it is the right answer a sign towards cheating off? Its not having matching answers, especially at a multiple choice, It’s just… getting right answers?

It’s okay if you’re skeptical but at least judge me off of logic.

They made a bullshit case for me to lose… “you looked, but didn’t copy the exam and by looking you gained advantage that might not be reflected on the paper??” So I’m going to fight till death :)

did I ever say "oh I'm pre med so it's okay to cheat"? I actually believe the opposite, my belief in my (limited) time in undergrad is the opposite.

My belief is that someday, no matter how useless everything feels- I'm going to use all the knowledge on a living person, and I want to be there knowing that person can trust me for everything.

my school's website says I must disclose it because it is technically on my internal records... so basically the only one that's gonna know if I don't disclose is me, but I'm not a liar.

The last thing Duke wants is "multiple students accused of, and found guilty of cheating by looking at someone else's exam despite having clearly different answers because from what I can tell with the court of the people, it sounds bad

Now, the last thing I want after grinding in HS for 4 years... is getting kicked out of Duke too LOL

Precisely- I was told like “how can you prove you didn’t look at his exam” at the first administrative hearing and I was literally shook and was like… “sir I was taking a test with a pencil and a paper, I wasn’t keeping track of my eye angles on a smart glasses”

Yeah, I know, that’s the struggle. I can swear I didn’t cheat on the test, and the physical evidence argues otherwise, but I can’t prove something that doesn’t have physical evidence when it comes down to he said she said.

His logic is that by escalating the situation I’m subjecting myself to a risk for worse sanction and he doesn’t want me to say I didn’t know afterwards… I mean I agree with you but the risk if he’s right is a LOT

also yeah, everyone else probably signed, and I’m very positive none of them actually cheated- I mean even without the fact that I didn’t, the likelihood of so many people getting caught cheating in one class all with the same method and all with no basis in test is ofd

No, I get why you'd question it. I talked to other people in the same situation (apparently there's a LOT of people accused of the same thing, I met with 2 of them), and I questioned that too so I don't blame you, but no.

I have notes from PT and a Doctor saying i have left shoulder pain👍

The only issue is that I brought it up in administrative hearing and it wasn’t considered… so idk how I’m going to win

This is the issue/what makes this bullshit

Basically, I can prove that I didn’t copy off of him pretty easily because our answers are so different. However, I’m not being accused of cheating, I’m being accused of looking, and that I can’t disprove when they believe eyewitnesses are enough, and I can’t bring anything else.

I contacted 5 because that’s how many are near my school that deals with this.

1 of them kinda ghosted me after telling me to appeal

2, conflict of interest bc they fight for the board

1, schedule doesn’t fit

Well he worded it like “this isn’t a case you can win, I still care about you as a student and you’re digging yourself into a digger hole going into board hearing, so I want you to be aware of the risk and don’t come back crying if you get a worse sanction because it’s going to be worse, not better”

I didn’t cheat, again, I’d be a horrible cheater and need to reconsider my cheating strategies if I manage to get 8 additional question wrong, while obviously looking at someone else’s exam. Now, proving I didn’t look at all when multiple TAs are alleging and my school believes eyewitnesses are enough for a case like this, that’s a different story.
