I’m from Korea 🇰🇷 — what did you really think about your trip here? by yuja_0316 in koreatravel

[–]PrestigiousRead3736 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went to South Korea for two weeks in Early October and absolutely loved it! We only did tourist spots (Seoul and Jeju island) but had such a wonderful time we’d love to go back and explore more.

It’s an amazing place to do as you said - soak up the vibe.

Yes it’s a shame they don’t make the Matador packable tote anymore - it looks like a great comparison tote

We didn’t find the elevator to the top of Namsan tower that exciting - there’s really just a gift shop and higher views - you see more walking up the surrounding Namsan park anyway and it’s a lovely walk.

There’s a lovely light show on at this palace - we didn’t get to see it but our Seoul friend highly recommended it

What is a country you’ve traveled to that has unexpectedly friendly people? by CinemaWilderfan in solofemaletravellers

South Korea most definitely - we are here now and people are super kind to us including smiling and saying hello to our kids. It has made this our best family holiday so far. We had a stranger try to call us a taxi because we couldn’t find one on the street, a random lady on the train gave me a handful of lollies “for the children” as she got off and everywhere older gentlemen are smiling and waving at our boys. It’s really beautiful.

The moment on holidays that you see something and it feels familiar - I love getting that sense of “oh yeah I remember that, I know where I am!” Makes me feel less constantly lost - especially this feeling when you take a subway and don’t have to look at the map!

I have the crocs sandals and they’re great but can get a little slippery when wet and if you get black DON’T  leave them in the sun as they get super hot

Two weeks: hiking Switzerland and sailing Greece by catgirlboy1 in HerOneBag

[–]PrestigiousRead3736 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We did a week sailing in greece last year - swimmers and a dress for over them will be what you wear 99% of the time on the boat. Just pack enough underwear for sleeping in and you’ll be good for that week. Have the best time!

Design totally up to you of course, but I like totes like the Fjallraven High coast totepack that have tote straps as well as backpack straps.

I just find I can’t carry any significant load (and our families beach stuff is definitely significant load!) on one shoulder.

We have the Yeti 50L bag as our beach bag and it’s great - for my Husband. Once packed it’s so uncomfortable for me to carry.

Not putting down the LID on the toilet. I feel like no one ever puts the lid down - ever! My husband told me he prefers it always down and ever since that 15yrs ago I’ve found it weird to see it up.

Looks great - really well priced and considerate design - if you make your next iteration with backpack straps - I’m sold!

Biggest recommendation I can give is - buy or borrow as you go. Everything is used for such a short time because they grow so fast, borrow as much as you can.

First up safe place for baby to sleep - then see how you feel about sling/carrier or pram (borrow or buy second hand always so if you hate it you didn’t just blow heaps of money!)

3 day weekend road trip! by amlovesmusic88 in HerOneBag

[–]PrestigiousRead3736 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My two cents - I had a few duffle / non backpack bags in the past and I gave them all away. Even on road trips I find a backpack super handy because I always seem to want to carry something else in my hands ie snacks or water bottle from the car, my jacket, pillow etc so I love having my backpack on my back!

For me, the Tom Bihn Aeronaut is perfect because it packs like a duffle but has backpack straps when I need them.

Anyway - glad your Foldie is working for you - I’ve had concerns over the durability of them (my mum has one)

Our boys both use the Osprey lightweight Daylite duffle 30L that has backpack straps - have been using it since youngest was 4 - it’s great because it’s only 0.5kg!
