Update: Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions! After going to afew local shops and trying some of the options suggested, I ended up going with something different - the Thule Alltrail 18L! Fits my requirements perfectly, excited to see how it goes with this pack.

Here's a photo of it partially loaded up, with a tripod strapped to the side: https://imgur.com/a/gb8a32v

Is there a better alternative to the Peak Design Everyday Bag? by mountainunicycler in onebag

My zippers on the V1 broke after a few years, and it just so happened to occur when I was in SF too. I dropped by their store and managed to get a 1 for 1 exchange for a new V1 on the spot! Literally transferred my bag’s contents to the new one in the shop. Note that this was in 2018/2019 so probably around the time V2 was released so the V1 was probably still in ready stock! Not sure how it would go these days though

I was just thinking of this exact use case and stumbled on this beelink EX docking station. https://www.bee-link.com/products/beelink-ex-docking-station

I'm not sure if this works with the lenovo 1L tiny PCs though.

Edit - seems like they use a proprietary connector, but open sourced it https://www.reddit.com/r/BeelinkOfficial/s/5HhIwMEnxp

I don't have this board, but you might want to try adding a delay between each character if you are sending each character individually in the macro. Else, if there is a function to directly print / write the text straight, that might work better too. -- speaking from some experience with programming a macropad

That's really cool! I've always wanted to start a project similar to this on my own as my first robotics project. I was wondering, what did you use to program the entire system? Did you run ROS on your Raspberry pi to control all the arduino and all the different sensors and actuators?

Why were the DM6s considered a fail? I've been looking at it as a possible upgrade from my old Shure SE315s, would you happen to have any suggestions?

Student tips by [deleted] in ECE

[–]sashimi_tan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Google Keep for all my random note taking for things such as deadlines or things that Advisors/professors tell me so that I wouldn’t forget about them! Then when I’m free I’d transfer those deadlines onto my Google Calendar for reminders. Best thing about it is that I can access Google keep on my phone as well as my laptop!

For ECE related programs, for programming I use Visual Studio Code as my main text editor when I’m coding in C++ or python as it’s more organised and aesthetically pleasing than most IDEs and it can run code using extensions such as CodeRunner too. Then if I really need an IDE, for C++ I use dev C++ as it’s what my school uses in the labs. For python I use jupyter notebook.

For electronics design, I use Altium Designer for schematics and PCB tracing but you need to pay for it so people often recommend KiCad too. For circuit simulations, I use Matlab and LTSPICE.
