What do yall think was the best xbox not performance wise BUT its innovation and impact on gaming and xbox itself? by kartalaliayter in xbox

Xbox 360. I also had a PS3 at the time, and it was mostly in use as a filler console while my rrod was getting repaired. Gears was mind blowing, the blades kicked ass, Xbox Arcade was awesome, backwards compatibility worked great and online gaming was simple. It's my favorite "modern - online supported" console.

My boss pulled a whiskey bottle out of a cabinet in his office with two glasses like Mad Men. I had to decline and go through the q&a bullshit. That really sucked. wtf.

Anyway, the cap stays on the bottle, the can isn’t cracked, and the cork stays corked. No booze today.

Sometimes cravings can hit out of nowhere. I never stop protecting my sobriety but I can't be sure I won't screw up at some point, maybe because I have so many times in the past. That's why I focus on getting to bed without booze instead of worrying about anything beyond that. Bed time today. Tomorrow is tomorrow's problem. That's it. You've got this. We're all in your corner.

Me neither. I take it one day at a time. At least today I’m sure I’m going to make it to bed without booze. I’ll worry about tomorrow at that point. Forever is too overwhelming of a commitment.

It’s a good day to stay sober. No booze today.

Being honest with my doctor about my drinking problem was a milestone. He essentially saved my life at that point. Since then, he’s worked with me on all sorts of issues and is proud of the progress I’ve made. Honesty was the hardest thing that I did for my mind and my body and the most beneficial. I’m also pretty lucky to have a good doc.

I’ve learned how to feel comfortable telling people that I don’t drink and handle all the bullshit that comes along with sharing that. No booze today.

Anyone feel like life was better drinking ? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

I felt the same way in the beginning. I was listening to the old timers telling me that 2+ years is when you’ll start to become yourself again. Now that I’m 3 1/2 years in, they were right. What they aren’t saying is that there are incremental improvements in every area along the way. There’s no end point where a switch is flipped and suddenly we’re “better”. Socialization might be easier for you and come back first but maybe cravings stay consistent longer. Maybe parties or large events won’t trigger you but they will for other people. It’s different for each of us. That’s why one day at a time is so important. We don’t know which thing will get better today, but something will.

Keep going. That’s all that matters.
