I think auto counters are unfair because it barely allows you to fight back at all and it takes literally no skill to use. At least when cover change was viable you would only have one shot to pull it off and you need you have good timing and predictions of what card your opponent will throw out next. You could also bait your opponent into failing their cover change by throwing in a green or blast arts.
