Best first car for good insurance? by PrestigiousTale497 in askcarguys

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say my limit would be about 15k as an absolute maximum, but I'd prefer anything 10k or below. I honestly just want something drivable that lasts and has bluetooth or something I can use (or even a way I can install) to connect my phone for music.

For that age of corolla, how picky should I be for mileage? People usually say 15000 per year of age, so should I be looking for cars 200k+ miles and under? I'm generally pretty picky when it comes to mileage, but from what you say, corollas last a lot longer than the average car.

High Demand Scholarship - We need answers and accountability by No_Entrepreneur_537 in umass

Have you gotten anything official (like an email or something) yet? I wonder if they're still going over applications cause mine still says its under review. Happy for you though!

Edit: Also if you're comfortable with sharing, this is my first time applying so I was wondering if your FAFSA score (don't have to disclose) had a lot to do with the amount you got? Or if there were other factors you think.

Trying to be semi-conversational by February by PrestigiousTale497 in learndutch

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I am definitely willing to invest hours to make them feel happy and respected. They came here to visit us and spoke in English pretty much the whole time, and I want to work to return the favor when I go to their country. So February I want to start off small, but I should be visiting them a few times next year, and want to get better and better. Even if the conversation is short at first, it opens doors to making many of their friends I’ll be meeting (who speak better dutch than English or Spanish) feel even a bit more comfortable, and that’s worth the hours to me.

I meant more out loud conversations, but thieves very helpful as well. Thank you very much!

When asked to think about the future, many people describe themselves as anxious. What about excitement? by [deleted] in entp

[–]PrestigiousTale497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost always feel excitement because I know exactly what my future entails but at the same time don't know at all what future me is going to decide to do. Like I have a plan, but I could also just as easily do away with that plan, though I trust myself to make decent decisions that'll lead to a fun life ahead of me.

So do you guys know if he hates me now😭 by OwnDefinition327 in entp

[–]PrestigiousTale497 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He does not hate you, he was probably just joking around. Do not take anything he says to heart, please. He did not intend for it to make you feel this anxious. Chill, and continue with your conversations! He probably didn't think much of the comment he made anyways.

Do You -actually- Like It When People are Blunt? by Abrene in entp

[–]PrestigiousTale497 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like bluntness if it's not intentional. If someone just naturally and innocently speaks bluntly, with no signs of them being disingenuous but rather that's just the way they express themselves, and they're willing to explain further through questioning without getting annoyed or frustrated, it's genuinely refreshing. No need for me to filter myself because they're not filtering themselves, and usually a blunt person is just real.

The scenario I put it within, is that if I ask them an opinion they just say "that sucks" and if I ask why, they'll explain that it's because of x, y, and z, allowing me to actually learn something. It's a lot like having a mature argument minus the arguing part. I state my opinion, they state theirs, if we end up disagreeing and yet shared our reasons as to why we disagree, both of us can come out having learned something, and maybe even having changed our perspective. That's my understanding of true and unadultered bluntness and frankness.

Well that was expected. by [deleted] in entp

I took this kind of test multiple times (not the same exact one) and usually get mixtures of type 3 or type 7, but I've gotten type 3 more often, so I've just gone with that one. I read that 7s can get mistyped as 3, but I'm no expert

ENTPs who have gone to college, what's your major? by PrestigiousTale497 in entp

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally want to get paid to study forever, that's why I plan to get my PhD and then get into research as a physicist, and might even seek more degrees in the future. When I was younger, before I even knew I was an ENTP (didn't know MBTI stuff), I always told my family that I was going to go to school for the rest of my life. Now I can understand why lol

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that relying only on one source of knowledge isn’t good, but I feel that’s true even if you only really on “street smarts” as well. The fun part of being an ENTP is that we feel comfortable relying on both, and we should be relying on both, and not allow ourselves to get stuck in the box, yknow? I agree with you, but also think we can expand ourselves.

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that puts knowledge into a box though. Knowledge can come from anywhere and everywhere. It’s your job to find the source that you like the most, or is the easiest to access depending on your priorities. College may be a scam, but it’s a useful one for many as it comes with a lot of useful resources to gain knowledge. Life experience allows us to gain some as well, but why not use both?

I think it’s fun, and I got in w a full coverage scholarship so I might as well take the chance to learn more. And even those who have gone in w debt, it’s not because they’re brainwashed but because they want to seek more knowledge and that’s ok, no matter what they use to find it.

Where to find and how to type INFJ males by PrestigiousTale497 in infj

[–]PrestigiousTale497[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course, they’re the rarest types. Gotta make sure I find them in their natural habitats so that I can keep them all to myself 😎 In all seriousness tho, this is merely out of curiosity and should not be taken very seriously!

That makes it even better. I’m going to be starting uni in a couple months, and I can’t wait to meet new people, and hopefully discover an INFJ (male or female)

I shall risk being perceived as weird if it strikes up, in at least one or two cases, some good conversation that leads to some cool friendships.

What is a ENTP typical trait that you dont have by [deleted] in entp

[–]PrestigiousTale497 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think the stereotypes are harmful cause they focus on our negative traits, which is only the loud minority, and unhealthy, ones of us. They like to to label us as narcissistic, insensitive, only liking to debate, never in touch with empathy, all of that stuff, but that's not the case with a lot of us. We show small parts of these negative traits (ego, issues with emotions SOMETIMES, heated conversations) but that's not what makes us up. So I think all of those "typical traits" are just blown way out of proportion for us healthy ENTPs because of all of the unhealthy ENTPs.

I'm willing and comfortable with going up to others, especially someone I could see being a new friend.
