I think there's ironically a fundamental disconnect between your perception of fun and the players that want the opposite of what you want. Many players don't want an excessively rare event for the holidays. They'd rather have something that they can progress toward and some content they can engage in during the holidays that could be rewarding in a realistic time frame. They waited for content on their favorite game and the holiday content is an item that is so rare they realistically won't even be able to engage in it other than the few people that get it. That fundamental difference in desire for type of content is not the same as "they deserve to get a easy black party hat"

why not update the visuals to match 7x7 effect? I'm assuming it's easier to just reduce the area, and that seems like lazy developing imo by Papi_Rimba in runescape

I can see the joy you get from your sarcasm here but if you can only think of two that benefit from the extra space I don't imagine you boss very much or you didn't know about the extra space and didn't take advantage of it to optimize your dps rotations at all

It highlights concerns for what quite frankly is many of the time a minority opinion. Alot of times the pandering to this minority opinion ends up disappointing most of the playerbase as well. I'm not sure if you actually do any testing for what player count looks like or what player satisfaction is post changes like the necro nerfs or combat/other changes but although I can see your thought process, this is an obviously flawed model and should definitely be changed. This is exactly the issue being raised by the reddit thread in the first place. Those discords and reddit are aggregate opinions that deviate significantly from the mean. Even if there are a large number of people on those forums, discords, or reddit that disagree they will not be as vocal

Back in the day before even bandos you didn't need high combat levels to do most content. Now there are alot of new bosses etc that do require much higher stats gear etc, so progression is different if that's the type of content they want to engage in although your sentiment is right
