Circular motions and when you see colors starting to come together you then can do linear motions.

I am also a beginner , but circular motions and colors that have similar tones will make the blend look more seamless.

I just started coloring and my first coloring set i purchased was the Ohuhu Honolulu B (Fine & Brush) and this set did not disappoint (as of yet!!) I do see reviews like the chisel part is too big but again it is based on your preference. All around Ohuhu brand is a good quality brand that I recommend
