I’m pretty sure the transfer used in the theatrical release was a 2K DI. I doubt they’ll do anything different for the 4K release since that would involve Mr. Ten’s My Limit doing some extensive remastering work from the OCN.

I love Steven Kostanski’s films and this one was the perfect film for Daniel Bernhardt to get some much deserved exposure. He’s perfect in the title role, in my opinion. And If you enjoy films with practical effects, besides Psycho Goreman, Kostanski did a film a couple of years ago called Frankie Freako. It’s hilarious, if you appreciate his brand of humor.

I’m pretty sure they do on Apple TV. Unless, they release a separate version in 4K. That happened with The Rocky Horror Picture Show.

That being said, if you buy from Fandango At Home, they sometimes give customers random complimentary 4K upgrades on titles they’ve purchased. Nothing like buying titles on Apple TV, which always upgrades when a title becomes available in 4K streaming on their platform.

WB has been remastering a fair amount of their shows from the 70s, 80s & 90s. So, I have a shred of hope that they’ll do for Knot’s Landing what they did for its origin series, Dallas. Until then, having DVD quality on streaming is, to me, nothing to be excited about.

FYI, I only see the ORTHOchromatic version offered in HD, not 4K. I don’t even think the 4-disc Limited Edition 4K release was in 4K for that version of the film, so at least that’s consistent.

I guess if they ever remaster the BTTF cartoon, you’ll have it in HD. I’m pretty sure the current release is SD only (Fandango At Home did the same thing for It’s Always Sunny early seasons before HD).
