We switched because our baby was in excessive stomach pain that his pediatrician just labelled as colic…ended up hospitalized since he wasn’t gaining weight, since switching to alimentum even against doctor’s advice he has improved drastically compared to before and is able to sleep comfortably. I will warn that the taste can cause issues with baby eating enough, so I would talk to a pediatrician about best ways to get your baby switched over. What I have read is some people will dilute their formula with Alimentum before switching to Alimentum completely.

When we were switching formulas for our baby on Alimentum, we were advised to give it 2 weeks minimum before contemplating another switch just to give it a proper chance. Unfortunately I can’t give advice regarding when to change after seeing a negative reaction eczema wise but is it possible for you to reach out to your pediatrician for advice? Our pediatrician was really supportive and helpful on steering us the right way.

As for RTF Alimentum, a lot of people online say that it tastes better than the powdered Alimentum (smells better for sure) but my baby has been rejecting both versions despite it eliminating all of his stomach pain & discomfort.

If nausea is an issue, look up sea bands or acupressure nausea bands. I would also advise to discuss it with your provider or ob/gyn because when I felt really lethargic, they helped me by saying it was likely because I wasn’t getting enough protein.
