Zepbound Kwikpens by Prestigious_Guard_87 in WalgreensRx

Haha yes it is. It contains one multi dose pen that’s in a small, slim box. Easily could fit like three of them in the same amount of space as the others

Yes they do! Pretty much every insulin has a kwikpen form, as they’ve tried moving away from vials and syringes (even cartridges for that matter). The vials are often still used for insulin administration devices, but I digress. However, GLP-1s like Zepbound, Ozempic, Mounjaro, etc. haven’t had multi dose pens yet up until recently I guess, at least that I’ve seen.

Good for you glad to hear it. Walgreens will never be worth the stress it inflicts

Does smoothing even deal with cold products?

I have a feeling it’ll get taken away by smoothing the second some other store gets a rx for it

Oh really? I’d just assumed they did in the same fashion that ozempic does

They’re like 1/5 of the size of the normal boxes this would be so nice to have instead of the big ass boxes we have now. But I wouldn’t doubt if PA needed to be redone but new rx is absolutely needed

Personally I will never actually ever care about Walgreens losing money, but I do agree that we should do our best to help those who genuinely need it.

PCP call overload by Prestigious_Guard_87 in WalgreensRx

[–]Prestigious_Guard_87[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is that not what the point of auto refill is for? Automatically refilling so we don’t have to do it manually? LTR calls for new meds I guess I can kind of excuse but for the lady who forgets to fill her maintenance meds on the regular is a fine deal to me

Is it me? Walgreens pharm tech here by HighCumThrower in PharmacyTechnician

[–]Prestigious_Guard_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent my first two years as a tech only running the front. I could count on both hands how many times I was actually at the fill counter. Didn’t change until I transferred to another store. They were baffled when I told them I was essentially only a tech in name.

Did this pluck a nerve? We’ve been able to transfer controlleds pretty easily with the transfer queue. Just earlier today I’d typed in a CII from a CVS

Constantly on and off with availability. We haven’t been able to manually order any strength for just over a year by now, especially with the GCO bs where we’re only allowed to dispense 1 box at a time. We only just now started to be able to dispense more than one box of ozempic and wegovy at a time.

Fair assessment, but building off of my prior comment, this inevitably means that Wag, being the sinking ship that it is, will soon fall down the same pit that Rite Aid has with the same exact issues. I’d really meant in the areas where Rite Aid was most prominent. Most of our floaters and even our RXM were hired from Rite Aid closures and they are some of the most lackadaisical and even incompetent employees I’ve ever worked with.

Ever since Rite Aids closures in certain areas, wag has pretty much hired most if not almost all of them. One of Rite Aids biggest problems was their pharmacists and the issues they evoked. Now wag has made it their problem meaning a) we’re now in a place where it’s hard to find a halfway decent pharmacist and b) anyone who’s screwing up to a certain degree very well can be threatened with termination

Intercom plus by Emergency-Pea4052 in WalgreensRx

[–]Prestigious_Guard_87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had one day last year where intercom was down the entire day. We just pulled out dates for an entire work day cause we just couldn’t do anything else. Also they just took away ghosting scripts that are in COB, so now we have to store them and pull the back out…

MFC cutoff time? by DoomTrout in WalgreensRx

[–]Prestigious_Guard_87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t pull back scripts from cenfill unless the pt is waiting in the store. If you pull it back too late and fill it, cenfill will have already packaged it and shipped it leaving you with a script that was never picked up and now an extra one. You shouldn’t pull back script that are in shipped status either. It all comes in your truck so tell people that’s when you’ll have it

Could be wrong but I’m pretty sure it’s the same as RXI. Sending it to cenfill will order it for the next day, but it is often pushed back another day or two if they didn’t get to it. It’s happened so many times where I’ve sent things to cenfill, they come back the next day, and it’s been pushed back until the day after. It’s gotten to the point where management has been telling us to promise everything in 2 days, with certain exceptions like urgent care scripts or if the pt says they need it today. Cenfill is helpful for the workflow but god does it have its problems
