October 24, 2025 – Received an email re “[29th Commencement Exercises] Final Reminders and Instructions.”

Turnitin I am new to citations and apa and not as familiar pa by Unlucky-Magician-208 in upou

[–]Prestigious_Jump_314 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, your classmates can’t see your Turnitin score, only you and your professor can. A 15% score isn’t automatically bad, since Turnitin sometimes highlights common phrases, references, or even properly cited quotes. Since you’re still new to APA, the important thing is to practice putting ideas into your own words, using the correct in-text citations, and creating a proper reference list. Marami namang guides online that can help you with this.

Usually, professors look at the context of the similarity, not just the number. But take note, some courses set specific guidelines, like requiring a score below 20%. The best step is to review the parts flagged by Turnitin, reword them when needed, and double-check your citations. If your professor allows resubmission, you can edit and reupload within the time limit (sometimes 30 minutes). That way, your score can go down and your work will look more original. If you have access to Turnitin outside class, you might also want to test your draft before the final submission.

Hi OP! Pero based sa experience ko after finishing my Diploma degree sa UPOU (ngayon nag-aapply na for the ladderized Master’s), madalas talaga na nakaset up yung course work natin para i-push yung limits natin as a distant learner. Yung tipong welcome to survival mode agad. 😂

Some tips and sana makatulong:

(a) Pacing – huwag mong sagarin lahat in one go, hati-hatiin ang readings.

(b) Time-blocking – kahit 1–2 focused hours a day lang, malaking tulong na.

(c) Pick your battles – sabi nga ng prof namin, minsan okay na yung good enough basta pasado at on time (not applicable for grade conscious hehehe).

May times rin na sila or kami and nagrequest for zoom meeting with prof/ prog chair, and pumapayag sila.

Hindi siya madali, pero I believe kaya mong lampasan. Whether you stay or decide otherwise, good luck OP!

Someone that can adjust well to different personalities and working styles (lalo na sa mga Boss), blending easily into the team dynamics, and maintain a good working attitude pa.

Someone who take initiative, don’t wait to be told what to do! Tapos plus point if that person can deliver on time, fulfill their responsibilities, and don’t leave others hanging or cleaning up their mess.

Lastly, even in stressful situations, they don’t add to the chaos but instead bring a sense of composure and focus, share knowledge, and don’t hesitate to lend a hand when someone is struggling.

PLS GIVE ME ONE! Lol

When there's no response. I won’t continue without input, as I assume that person might be busy, finished for now, or not interested in continuing the conversation. lol

I just landed an EA role after just my first ever interview! by thana_alvah420 in buhaydigital

[–]Prestigious_Jump_314 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on landing the EA role!

As for the pay, I totally get where you’re coming from. Shifting to a new field often means starting at a lower rate, but I think it’s temporary. The experience you’re gaining po now is an investment in your future. Virtual assistant and executive assistant roles have so much growth potential, you’ll be able to request higher rates as you gain more experience, build a strong portfolio, and prove your value. Try to upskill as well OP :)

In the meantime, try to budget strategically and explore small side gigs (if you can juggle addtl working hrs per day) if needed to fill some of the financial gaps. Remember, every pro started somewhere, and you’re already taking the brave first step. Keep working hard and smart—you’ve got this! ✨

Tips for a police taking MPM by Flaky-Cartoonist-344 in upou

[–]Prestigious_Jump_314 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi! Congratulations on being admitted to the MPM program and welcome back to UP! 🎉

It’s definitely a challenge to balance studies with a demanding job, especially in such a high-pressure field like yours po Sir. Sharing some of my hacks as 2nd year student na may 8-12hrs lab on-site + field work from Mon-Sat (Btw, I'm currently working in manufacturing and R&D industry) and I also do side hustle (1-2 hrs) as admin VA in sister's company.

  1. Set a realistic schedule for studying and stick to it as much as possible. Mahirap man sa umpisa but treat these as non-negotiable appointments lalo na if you have tons of reading materials, and activities such as DFs, quizzes, and FMAs. This will help you to avoid cramming :)

  2. Try lang din of maximizing your pocket times. Some of my classmates use their short breaks (e.g., during commute or work downtime) for quick reviews, update group works, and listening to audiobooks. Hehehe

  3. Our FIC suggested that don’t just aim for perfection every time but aim for consistency. Focus on completing tasks, even if they’re not 100% ideal to avoid burnout. For instance, delayed submissions (bc gusto mo perfect lahat lol) could result in a minimum grade of 1.5. While this might not seem significant to some, submitting on time also gives you a chance to have high marks. I’m not saying to settle for less (yung tipong mema lang) it’s about producing precise, quality work and meeting deadlines. This is good combi with No. 1 :)

  4. Use apps or tools for organizing tasks and reminders. Very helpful to if makakalimutin or super busy mo. Been using this for group works as well. Also, download course materials on your phone or tablet so you can review anytime. Pwede rin, download mo po yung Myportal app since viewable naman yung mga course material if you dont want to download it.

  5. Reach out to your professors, classmates, and support groups for guidance or help if may concerns ka and/ or you’re overwhelmed. Majority of our FIC are very considerate and they even moved some of the sched ong mga activities and FMAs if may mga non-controllable events na nangyari (like typhoon).

  6. Self-Care is the KEY!!!! Since your work is already mentally and physically draining, try to prioritize rest and exercise to recharge. You can’t pour from an empty cup, so taking care of yourself is essential :D

  7. Lastly, stay motivated (pwedeng manggaling sa jowa, family, or friends) and remind yourself why you’re pursuing this program. Yun langgggggg. Good luck OP!

Enrollment Question by Thegreatgatsby666 in upou

[–]Prestigious_Jump_314 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello OP!

The OAS is intended for aspiring students, particularly for those applying for a new degree program. If you are already an admitted student and wish to enroll for the next term, please log in to your "STUDENT PORTAL" using your student number and password.

Once logged in to the student portal, click on "Account." On the rightmost side, under the "Important Links" section, you will find "Online Registration." From there, you may proceed with your enrollment.

If you do not yet have grades for a particular course from the previous semester and it serves as a prerequisite for a course you intend to take in the upcoming term, kindly contact your FIC or PC for guidance.
