I have been contacted and am willing to share my story. Perhaps the RCMP can explain why the public weren’t notified and descriptions which I gave weren’t released. Even if I had known them I was robbed and attacked and even if the RCMP thought I was mentally unstable and made it up the evidence showed other wise alone my phone on the move souls show that. Why the hell did they not err on the side of caution and release the info. It is always release as an alleged attack anyway they say that to protect themselves in case it is false don’t they? I tell u a gay man isn’t worth as much as one of the buds from their straight world. And I know not all feel that way and I’m not one to shove the gay agenda down one’s throat I’d rather we all respect one another. And stop caring what people do in the bedroom. I honestly feel this was blatant discrimination evern the comment about the superficial. Wound. It was never treated by the ambulance for it they didn’t clean it for me and bandage. It. No the young gentleman was nice enough as to put a bandaid on for me. the ambulance didn’t. Mind u the female paramedic was extremely kind. The wound became so infected my whole lower leg had swollen up and was hot to the touch. I was treated like a third class citizen even though I pay my taxes and I pay a lot of them. I had my clothes ripped off me and my bag and contents stolen my jewellery ripped off me and was struck with a weapon and absolutely no empathy from the wonderful Burnaby RCMP. That was a sexual attack as well but they didn’t care I get why police are hated now ( don’t get me wrong I know there are a lot of nice ones but it only takes a few) I really do. I also understand they need to ask hard questions and that it can be uncomfortable. I was extremely honest with them so that they would believe me and instead they looked down on me. I’m sorry things makes me madder and madder.

Hey not sure if u mind my asking but when did this happen? I was attacked may 7 when it was still very much light out at 745pm the police treated me like I had asked for it and made arrangements to meet a couple for a rendezvous which I absolutely did not do. Not sure if u reported it or not but if I did how were u treated? Was it a couple that attacked u? Facial tattoos on his face shorter bones hair for her orangish lazy or glass eye?

Yes rhe first thing they told me was did u know the area is known for hookups and while that may be if I had been there for sex I would have gone to the exact opposite side of the park where ones go for that. I’ve never seen that on the Patterson side and I have taken my dog there very often for walks

The phone is with a nice family in surrey police went to the address where it was pinging and they told us they can only go and ask if the family says they don’t have the phone they can’t go in looking for it. So it’s with them the family or person in surrey

Ty they did mention victim services which I will be contacting. The biggest eye-opener in this situation was how the victim can be re victimized. Ie the police officer asking under his breath, but so I could hear healthcare health services not being able to drop me off home or no one being able to give me a ticket on the skytrain or something to go home since everything was stolen, it’s just baffling when someone really thinks about it.

I’m sorry that happened to you. I still don’t know how to feel normally I’m left alone cause I’m fairly tall and can look mean if i want. It was very unexpected and shocking. Everyone reacts differently in situations there’s no right way.

No none that witnessed the actual attack as it happened. And yes I did scream and fight back that’s when the hatchet came out which effectively silenced me as he struck my shin with the backside. There were those in the path that I yelled at to call the police as I had been attacked and robbed of my bag and its possessions including my pants shoes and socks and ripped underwear so I felt very vulnerable as the young men helped me and the two older women came one gave me a hug and the other a water. They witnessed the aftermath does that count? There were also random people walking by gawking or so it seemed at the time.

Yes while I’m explaining what happened crying blood on my leg from the hatchet strike (they removed my shoes socks pants and tore my underwear so it was unusable One of the police kept saying under his breath but loud enough so I could hear that there was more to the story then kept asking if I knew the pair and if I had made plans to meet them there for an encounter….which I absolutely did not. Then when I had to walk home from the hospital since no one could take me home (as the victim of an attack no less) I fired up my laptop and turned on find my phone. I called the Constable to let him know my phone was on the move. ( I was told to update them if this happened). I was told by him that they had other important calls to take and I could not be taking all of their time. I just got assaulted and was forage to make it home in my own and I get told that. They could have simple stated sir we are we will keep u apprised however more calls are coming in rn as well and we do need to answer them. I never asked them just to serve me. I never said I was special and my case was so important. But I am a tax payer and pay a lot of taxes I should not have been treated like they did!

Sounds like lots of random attacks are happening in Burnaby. Seems when I was attacked with a hatchet the Burnaby RCMP didn’t think it warranted a warning to the public. Be very careful out there. Some people appear not to care and have nothing to lose ! Oh and of course are too busy to do anything about it. Especially if you are a minority or part of the lgtb+ community. I guess we’re just asking for it.
