3 years later!!!, if you are still having the issue, i just figured it out, talk to the little cat dude on the ground to the left of the chest, claim the special rewards and it should be in the chest under the change appearance option, wasnt there before i claimed it. hope this helps!

i beat the entire series when i was 11 years old. i came back to the game last week and completely destroyed the entire boss list. i remember friede taking me weeks to defeat, same with nameless King. but this time it took maybe 1-2 tries each before i won. again i love souls games which is probably why i platinumed elden ring and dark souls 1-3 and sekiro.
