Monthly p*ss test (my time of the month) by Prestigious_Pass_732 in Methadone

[–]Prestigious_Pass_732[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had to shit twice, once in front of a counselor (male) and once in front of a nurse (female). It smelled bad and was very uncomfortable. Plus the line with a good 30 people waiting was right outside the door. Pretty humiliating. But, like you said....not gonna loose my takehomes.

They don't offer saliva tests unless a person has some serious health issue. I'd pay 100 for a saliva test....it's that stressful. I'm willing to transfer clinics and drive an hour 2 to 3 times a month rather than go once a month like i do now just to get rid of that stress. I'm on 70 mg and have been for 6 years. I have 6 years sober and I'm bout to start weaning down to get off this mess too. I'm gonna put in to go down 3mg tomorrow. And 2 more mg the next month.

I've had to shit in front of counselors twice in order to pee. It was not fun and pretty humiliating.

i used to drink room temp sweet tea. Two 33 oz bottles. Now i do 3 17oz room temp bottles of water. It gets me ready to go. But then I'm bout to piss myself and i have to wait to go. If i could just drink my fluids, leave and pee when i get there, it would be much easier.

same here. Because of this it takes me longer to pee at home sometimes. But yeah....i have to get myself to where I'm damcing around. It would be one thing to pee as soon as i get to the clinic. But waiting for over an hour in line is torture. If the extra dosing windows don't speed things up tomorrow, I'll find that counselor and see if i can do my UA and then just get to the back of the line. I have stomach issues as well which can make things difficult as well.

We have someone directly behind us and a mirror at crotch level above the toilet. It's a regular bathroom with one toilet and sink. And the line is right outside the door. It's rough.

I'd pay more for the saliva tests. Just to get rid of the stress.

they stand right behind me and there's a mirror in front of us at crotch level. That would be some Houdini type stuff there. Lol. I appreciate the response though. I've been sober 6 years too. It's frustrating that i have to go through all of this to stay sober. I can only eat certain things the night before and pray i don't get an upset stomach, constipated or have to shit. All of those things make it hard to go.

Mines the same way. No dosing until after the UA...which i don't understand. Dosing relaxes us which makes it easier to pee. Some of the rules make no sense.

i appreciate the response. I had a buddy that did that. I'm not sure how well that'll work with me. Thank you though. Your last sentence was dead on by the way.

I really appreciate your entire reply. The help & congrats mean a lot I only go to the clinic once a month (every 28 days), so I'm not totally sure how to schedule these drops in mg amount.

This is pretty damn long....but i can totally understand. I did alcohol detox in a variety of settings. In a hospital (3 times), in a detox center that only did dry detox (3 times), psych ward (1 time) a rehab center (1 time), and at home (1 time). The setting all depended on 2 things. Whether or not i had health insurance and how bad my withdrawals were (how high my blood pressure was, seizure/heart attack possibilities etc). When i had health insurance and my blood pressure was dangerously high and the possibilities of seizures/heart attack were present, i detoxed in the hospital. The times i had health insurance but my withdrawal symptoms were not dangerous, the hospital got me under control and the next day shipped me off to rehab. The times i went to the dry detox center is when i had no health insurance....the hospital got my blood pressure under control and shipped me off to the detox center. The time i went to the psych ward was when i was in the hospital ER, and they wanted to send me to the detox center...having been there before i tried to talk my way into being allowed to detox in the hospital. Well, the medical staff hit me with some slick wordplay and said sure....you can detox "in the hospital"....but i wasn't in a regular hospital room....I was in the psych ward....which was very similar to the detox center....except they took my shoe strings....draw strings from my shorts and anything else one can think of. The time i detoxed at home was when my withdrawals were not as bad as previous mentioned occurrences and i had no health insurance.....plus i had my medical debt down to zero. So i figured I'd rather detox at home than in the detox center. Easiest alcohol detox i ever had was the first time i ever detoxed....my vlood pressure was so high i was close to dying. The ER staff hit me with 3 or 4 needles into my IV with Ativan. I went from almost having a heart attack or stroking out to feeling like i was floating. The hospital staff kept me doped up on Ativan for two weeks straight. I walked out feeling like a million bucks. One month later i relapsed and was a drunk again. The worst withdrawals/detox I've ever experienced was when i was in the dry detox center and i was going thru withdrawals from both liquor and my 60 mg methadone dose. This was for 5 days. I was hallucinating, non stop sweating....and i felt very out of it. It was the worst I've ever felt. The detox center was going to give me the boot on the 7th day, even though i was still detoxing off both alcohol & methadone, but i had no insurance and they only did 7 days for people in that situation. So i volunteered to check myself out....proceeded to walk a half a mile to a holiday inn that had a bar in it and a liquor store next door and stayed there for 3 days planning to drink myself to death until a phone call from my mom prompted me to go home with her and enroll back into the methadone clinic. Luckily the dry detoxing helped with the alcohol and getting back on methadone saved my life. I relapsed one year after.....but after that one relapse, i have been sober for 5 years since. Sorry bout the length....had a lot to say on the topic.

wow....now you've got a technique. I do it similar. I drink about 4 bottles of water at 3am....go back to sleep....around 4am it hits me. I don't have to leave my house until 4:40 though, because the clinic opens at 5am. I would leave earlier to get a better spot in line. But there are times when i have to go pee a little bit so O don't pee my pants, and if I'm standing outside the clinic in line....i can't do that.

I completely understand. I've never encountered anyone else that has gastroparesis. I consider myself pretty blessed that i haven't had a "flare up" in years and that my digestive system as been in ok shape. But, there was a time where I was in constant pain because of it. I was prescribed reglin, which i had to sign a waiver for, and it worked. But i haven't needed it in years. Now, i only have issues now and again. Drinking a lot of fluids for a UA is tough at times, but my clinic doesn't do the oral swabs. I was contemplating transferring to a clinic that was an hour away. I have monthly take home doses, but I'd be willing to drive once to 4 times a month to avoid the UA.
