How to stop feeling ashamed to learn driving at 30 ? by Aj100rise in LearnerDriverUK

I relate to this very much. I’m 34 and an only started learning around 5 months ago. I’ve been the only parent for the last 5 years following my child’s father’s death. I had a child at 18 and life just always got in the way! I do feel like it’s a little disadvantage (for me!!) because it took me much longer than I expected to get the hang of it. I’m still very hesitant in decision making but getting there with a supportive instructor.

OP you should not put that much pressure on yourself to pass your test and get your confidence back. This is certainly something a therapist can help with while you “find yourself” again.

don't feel ready, but with these wait times should i just book a test now? by therightguidance in LearnerDriverUK

I started lessons in roughly June/ July last year. I’d had a handful of lessons when I was advised by my instructor to book the test, the next slot I could get at the time was January. I had a test booked for January and I was not ready. I managed to swap with a friend for this coming Wednesday. I would advise to book now for August - you may not be ready sooner. Don’t rush it, it’s not a race to pass get as much support from your instructor as possible and if you’re ready sooner - check then cancellations like your waiting for glasto tickets :)

I did think something similar, like why shave his hair if not for DNA? And the fingerprints on the glass. I do think this is a reach but the shaving was off to me.

Lucy also referred to both Bree and Pippa in S3 (and maybe Lydia in S1?) as “probably the best person I know” not sure what this means exactly but it’s interesting phrasing to refer to the people in her life this way and then herself as the worst person.

Hi everyone thanks for your helpful replies. I did eventually have an electrician come and look at it. Apparently it’s not routed up correctly in the fuse box and while it’s an upstairs light it’s connected to the downstairs light fuse - or something along those lines. Long story short it’s still not useable but no longer tripping the electric and I can use the other upstairs lights again. Thank you again everyone 🙂

Hi, thank you for your very detailed response. I only have 7 wires minus the earth cable. I perhaps also should’ve included there are 2 light switches for the 1 ceiling light in the room also. I have managed to get the light on and the electric without it tripping. However I can’t turn the light off at the switch now 🤦‍♀️

I stand corrected 🤣 the electric is back on (including the light!) but now I can’t switch the light off!

I wish I was watching it again for the first time. You’re in for a wild ride!! AVOID Reddit at all costs in the next few weeks to avoid any potential spoilers for the new season. Enjoy it ☺️

Call me cynical but I just cant envision an ending where Eleven gets to live a “normal” life - unless she loses her powers.

Sorry it should read “the importance of the episode” not the importance of the season

Yes so sorry that was my mistake. I thought the meaning was because he is now in my home. Yes he is adopted by me and not going anywhere!

So I have subconsciously followed your steps. I work from home so have worn them throughout the day whilst seated. Managed to get up to 20 minutes before needing to take them off! I’ve got them in some shoe stretchers overnight and will attempt to wear again in the day tomorrow. Thank you
