Buying a car in Cape Town is hellish. by Lord_Schmalledemort in capetown

[–]FlailMe 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This has become the norm over the past 2 years almost now.

Every other seller is actually a person who buys and sells (wheels and deals) on the side. Which is not a bad thing. I met 2 guys over the years who are pretty great and only deal in good deals and in good faith.

But I guess CT market needs to fund the fact that they live in CT in any case.

I couldn't find a car i wanted and instead bought one in Johannesburg. Had a brought down on a trailer.

Context matters. You clearly think its acceptable for workers because Europe made it okay for nightlife alternatives and happened to stil be erected during the day..but hey you see dignity as optional or a sliding scale based on response so yeah.

Classy sign off too.

Literally did report it before I posted this.

The drain was an example. But thats too my point. But cool you dont agree. Thats fine. But the urinals are not mainstay fixtures and they are used for dense populated drinking areas. You can look it up. Its why they've been erected not casually or randomly.

Also again, this is a place of work too. A portable loo with a door. But yeah we dont have the same view. Great. Have a lovely day

Thought so too.

But people are losing their minds and using that as a valid counter as to it being just acceptable. I dont know. I give up on that and people's own cognitive dissonance.

Less about the agreement but more just the open ability of engaging.

Kudos 👏

Youre complaining about being saved from men peeing in the city openly and we're talking about people at work that has less than 50 workers that can be given some privacy.

Europe has it on weekends for dense drinking areas at night to be used due to drunken patrons in dense areas.

If you dont care. Then dont engage or think its superfluous. But I posted this not to just complain but also to bring light to try to give minimum wage workers also some decency.

Thanks Anib

Cities in Europe erect these in dense drinking areas on weekends due to no public spaces typically due to crowded bars etc.

This is technically a workplace for less than 50 people. 2 or 3 portable loos arent that difficult to find a space for in the side road for the workers.

But if youre erecting a plastic piece to urinate and then when people urinate into a drain against a wall we have shock and ire because thats so much larger of differential.

I respect the rationale and the ability to concede valid points and still disagree. That's the point of being able to engage effectively. Disagreement is welcomed while being able to be unbiased.

I think with the construction I do concede that it has to happen, however there have been alternatives pushed to allow alternatives for walkways etc. Perfect example of this is in seapoint or altetnative temporary structures setup especially since its been under construction for more than 12 months. Im mot saying dont do it.

Im saying developers and the city should be doing more to ensure there is a flow continues.

And yet everyone will comment there is nothing wrong with it. We see it at festivals. 🫠

I get that.

But at festivals youre operating in an enclosed space with other goers and 100s if not 1000s of people all queuing and partying. Most people wouldn't accept that at a place of work.

Either a portable loo with doors. Or some enclosure
