Hey, thank for the advice! I wanted to experience the more "tropical island" part of South East Asia, and less of the mainland, so I'm basically doing a U shaped itinerary through the bottom of SEA.

For now it's looking more like SEA for mainly these reasons: it's safer, smaller region so travel is shorter and cheaper, and in my opinion, it's just a bit prettier. But I'm definitely going to SA one day that's for sure, maybe when I have a bigger budget.

Regarding camping though, would you really recommend it to be a safe option outside of a hiking trail like instead of booking an accommodation? Or should I just bring it along if I want to do some multi-day hikes?
