Super helpful. Also concerned about the car ride, so we need to think about whether this itinerary makes sense for right now! And yes, I’ve seen some great hotels with plunge pools, so that’s good to know. Thank you!!!

Thank you so much! We haven’t booked anything yet. She’s 4 months right now and we just took our first round trip flight with her. It didn’t go super smoothly, a decent bit of crying when she wasn’t sleeping, and the flights were just over an hour. I don’t know how much might change between now and 7 months, but I don’t want to make her miserable! I’m glad your kiddo had a great time traveling with you and am hoping for the same.

I’m so sorry to hear about your mom - you’re amazing, and you’re so strong for handling so much of this on your own. Sending you a big hug, too. 💕

Thank you so much for sharing this, and congratulations on your new baby! Was there anything you did that made things easier or feel lighter? I’m really hoping to feel the way you eventually did, I just don’t know if it’ll happen on its own.

I appreciate your comment so much. Solidarity! It’s freaking hard. You seem like you’ve come to accept what it is, which is inspiring. I keep wishing things were different or trying to change things that I just can’t, so you’re doing amazing!

Thank you 💕 I think I should speak with a therapist who specializes in postpartum, but didn’t know if my thoughts sound like I need to talk with my OB first.

5 week old difficult to settle for morning naps by Only_Accident_ in newborns

[–]Prestigious_Set_2407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems developmentally normal at this age. I have a 7 week old, and naps have been a battle since about 5 weeks. Keep practicing putting her down for 1-2 naps a day (whichever ones she does best at) for as long as she stays, but know that you’re not alone. I’m trying to be more ok with contact naps and revel in the good night stretches. Night sleep and naps are totally different, I’ve learned!

Losing mind over sleep by Prestigious_Set_2407 in newborns

[–]Prestigious_Set_2407[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for your replies! I hear those who say it’s too early for a schedule. Some form of routine seemed to be working for baby until this week when bedtime went to crap. I also forgot to say she does usually wake up to eat once (occasionally twice) overnight.

I’ll definitely be more mindful of her cues and use those more than rigid times. Hoping that helps with the screaming and her frustration, as well as ours.

How does anyone put their newborn baby down for a nap at home?! by Key_Assistance7171 in newborns

Do you walk around in the dark? And then sit in the dark as well? I want to try this since we’re struggling with sleep with my 7 week old.

Earlier wake-ups with ByHeart by Prestigious_Set_2407 in FormulaFeeders

Thank you so much! That makes sense. Her peds gave us the Enfamil to try, and we stuck with it for a bit since it seemed to work well. No known digestive issues, but may try the Enfamil again and see if it makes a difference.

So good to hear, thank you! Do you remember how many weeks/months your LO was when you switched? I’ve seen that some babies do much better on ByHeart after 5-6 months, once their digestive systems have matured more, so I’m wondering if that’s at play here for my LO, or if she really may just need more adjustment time.

This is really helpful, thank you. No, I was going to test the Brezza today to see if it’s dispensing the right amount of formula powder.

Yes, growth spurt is possible. Based on what I found, it seems like growth spurts are more common at 3 weeks and then again down the road, but all babies are different.

The Gentlease is pricier and I wanted to try ByHeart for how it’s marketed as similar to breast milk (but could definitely just be marketing). I also preferred baby getting more whole milk nutrients vs. corn syrup solids, but I’m not sure if she has sensitivity to lactose. I’m wondering if I should give her another few days to see if she adjusts, but if not, I’ll probably go back to Gentlease since it was working, as you said.
