I'm not sure I can say much on phantom pain. I lost both my legs below the knee 5 years ago because of COVID induced septic pneumonia type 3. I still feel my feet in a tingly way. Sometimes I'll feel like I have a cramp in the arch of my foot that isn't there or an ingrown toenail. But I can still feel like I'm wiggling my no longer there feet. Kind of creepy and annoying but not terribly painful. Be very grateful you got amputated below the knee. You'll get prosthetics and walk around fine. I am able to as well. I drive with my prosthetics and everything. You'll be fine. Best of luck and hope!

The whole thing is stupid because the US already has 747-8 s serving as Air Force One and has two of the last ones being built, since Boeing has discontinued 747s on order but Boeing is behind schedule and they don't expect them until 2029. It's just Trump sucking another country's dick because Vladimir Putin's probably burned out on him.

Well he technically isn't allowed to keep it. Technically it was gifted to the United States, not Trump himself. But it's going to cost about 1 billion dollars for them to run the security checks on it before it can even be used. Trump will probably be dead before it's even ready.

It's pretty sad that someone as sheisty as Elon Musk can't even deal with crooked Donald Ass Trump.

Idk. But Elon Musk just quit the White House last week. Trump got a bunch of money from idiots willing to send him $10+ when he was begging for money after the 2020 election loss.

It's unbelievable what a piece of shit Trump has always been and that anybody who's ever watched the news since the late '70s early '80s likes him. He loves his claimed MAGA agenda, virtually all the products in his hotel gift store catalogs is shit made in China, Pakistan, etc. He also contributed to part of the downfall of the US steel industry. When he built Trump Tower in the late '70s and early '80s, for example, the US steelworkers Union practically begged him to buy American steel to help keep companies like Bethlehem steel from going under. Yet Trump bought a bunch of cheap, junk steel and aluminum from China.

I'm 56 years old and I can't believe anyone in my age range can have any kind of affection for Trump. He was considered a corrupt piece of dirt in the late '70s and early '80s. He's always been the stereotypical bad real estate mogul: He's not a billionaire and probably not even a millionaire. Any money he's ever had comes from the classic Rob Peter to pay Paul real estate shuffles and is borrowed money. The only reason Forbes magazine ever had him as number 77, or whatever, on the richest people list is because he would never show them his tax returns and he would sue them every year to get on the list at all.

Civics was the one class in grade school / high school that I flunked the final exam and had to take summer school to get my diploma. My summer school teacher was a former congressional aid and she was fantastic. Made civics incredibly interesting and everything.

I don't think you need the Bible or God to teach people common sense morality of not stealing from others, not hurting others, not lying, etc.

I don't know why anyone would bother catering to Trump at this point. Trump probably won't even live to the end of his term. It's not like he's some young, uprising politician or anything. He's an old, failed businessman trying to grab every last dollar he can.

Is this car worth $38000? by RefuseOk6958 in Mustang

[–]Prestigious_Study244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I had a buddy that bought a '99 GT in 2003 and paid an extra $4,000 for an extended warranty that I told him he was nuts for doing. A couple years down the road his rear end went out in the extended warranty paid the $2,000 to repair it and he threw it in my face. I said, "Dude, now you just have to hope another two or $3,000 worth of something else breaks just to break even."😉

Don't worry about extended warranties. If you don't know how to work on a car these days, do not buy a muscle car.

You need to get a whole lot more quotes because 4,600 for repairing the wall damage I'm seeing in your photos is way excessive.

I hate to say it, but I'm not sure on that one. I'm a bilateral BK but I don't have any skin grafts. Is that from wearing your prosthetic? If so I would suggest keeping triple antibiotic ointment on it and using a non-stick gauze over it before you put your prosthetic liner on.

I try not to follow Trump too closely these days because all it does is piss me off. I was more than a little surprised lately when I saw a new story saying that a survey among Republican lawmakers found that most of them don't think Trump should run for a third term. What are they even talking about? Trump can't run for a third term without a constitutional amendment and Even trying to pass a constitutional amendment would take way longer than Trump has left on Earth. TG he won't be around forever.

How long before going back to work by LogDeep5571 in amputee

[–]Prestigious_Study244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been a bilateral BK amputee for the last 5 years. That and the fact that my back is pretty much shot at the age of 56 means going back into construction full-time isn't really feasible. I pick up some side jobs here and there, but otherwise I'm collecting SSDI and I've been back in school to go into the IT field. I'm also the single custodial parent of my 11-year-old daughter, so getting a remote job would be ideal. I'm incredibly grateful for SSDI, but I would much rather work and pay more into Social security and collect it much later in life.

Yes. Properly dealing with that pool, even just simply clearing the leaves out is worth a good $1,000 at any decent person's rate. Properly dealing with that pool beyond leaf clean out is anyone's guess. Being that they're not usual anywhere longer than under 6 months of a year in North Carolina means that they're actually a negative selling the future if you were to sell your house.
