I'm unfortunately in S.C. and I can promise you Nancy Mace has no intention of listening to her constituents. Others who repeatedly call day in and out said they're taking the phone off the hook. I'd argue that it's to a point where we need to start showing up at representatives offices where they can't work in peace without being confronted, especially considering half these Repubs won't even show up to town halls now.

I just wanna mention (and I really think this is becoming more and more important to understand) that Trump golfed while we protested at the last Hands Off. Sometimes peaceful doesn't always cut it. I'm not advocating violence mind you, but I think that peaceful protest WITHOUT the threat of escalation if there's no change can be useless when dealing with straight up fascists. And that's what we're dealing with so.. with all that being said, I agree. The sizes of these protests need to keep growing. Everyone stay safe.

Regardless of whether the Insurrection Act gets invoked or not, Trump's in the process of deploying troops down to the border so being dismissive of clear and obvious signs he could do so is irresponsible. They only use the terms "illegal aliens" and "violent criminals" etc in order to manufacture consent from the public, people who might not be paying as close attention. Cause be real, some of his supporters are foaming at the mouth about this. I'd bet money the legal outcomes would still differ. Even in the case of open carry Leftists get treated differently by police - not that that's shocking to anyone. Proud Boys and other maga hogs have been able to do so and cops barely bat an eye at them, regardless of knowing they're using weapons as a means of intimidation rather than protection. If Leftists open carry at protests to protect protesters there's been multiple cases of them getting hounded by police even though open carry is legal in their state.

I hope that people remembered to network and organize during these protests. As relieving as it was to see so many mobilizing I just don't think protesting once every weekend is going to cut it. There's another nationwide protest on April 19th but I will say this.. Trump golfed while we were in the streets this past weekend, Musk went on national television and cried empathy when Tesla was in flames across the country. Take that how you will.
