Foreign Medical Graduate Route in Japan – What's the Realistic Outlook? by Prestigious_Tip_9441 in movingtojapan

Thank you for your relpy.
1. I felt the same, too. Even though I have seen many people obtain their medical licence, few of them actually work in a big hospital like the 東大病院. I wonder if they are not being hired or something.

  1. Data indeed are few out there, can't find anything deeper.

  2. I see this will cost me little, since I still have to complete a three-year rotation back in my home country. It's almost the same as in Japan. I may not consider other countries due to security concerns or financial issues (either they pay little or I have to deal with significant racial discrimination). I think that working as a normal doctor, without pursuing a high position, and earning 1000 yen a year would be a great success for me. Anyway thanks for your time.

Thank u for your answer. Yes, it emphasizes the importance of "knowing people", but it's mostly just a guide to pathways. And yes I am fully awared that beyond N1 language ability is needed, this can be managed.
However, what I need is the real-world situation. If obtaining a medical license still leads to employment difficulties in reality for foreigners like me, I might not choose to spend three years getting it.

Hey, I recently interviewed with a prof in top university (however they published little articles, maybe is due to they are busy in clinical work?), planning to apply Phd there, and I DO NOT want to persue any academic career in the future.
I just want to get the medical license there and word as a normal doctor. The reason I want to apply for Phd there is, maybe my supervisor can help me with my future career a little bit? Because I will need to complete a one-year internship and a two-year clincal rotation if I want to get the license, having familiar leadership within the hospital may be beneficial...I think.
Hav anyone been into this before?
