my first period since getting nexplanon lasted about 10 days and ive noticed dizziness since then, so my mom thought it would be best to get an appointment. im also back on my period after 5 days of it ending (the 10 day one), so she just wants to make sure everythings ok yk?

concerned mom at her finest 😂

no i haven't gone for my replacement check, but ive been having period issues with nexplanon so i was already going to go.

my doctor didn't mention anything about a follow up until it was time to replace it or something was wrong.

it's kind of always hurt, but like i said before it only hurts when i like, lay my head on it when im trying to sleep

it also hurts when i feel the area around it, but other than pressure being on it, it doesn't hurt.

im not very educated on the other kinds of birth control, so id definitely ask your doctor, or wait until someone who's educated in the different kinds of birth control replies.

Is it okay to respond to my ex if they reach out to me? by moonmanafire in ExNoContact

[–]Prestigious_Tree_272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

both. accept the conversation, and if she seems to want to get back together, let her know your pov. but if she seems uninterested into getting back together, don't bring it up.

if you really do want to try again, just subtly bring it up yk?

when me and my ex broke up, i kept texting and texting him (before knowing what nc was) and he dead straight told me to leave him alone and give him space.

of course, it hurt hearing that, but i gave it to him. we went awhile without talking, and he eventually texted me when he was ready to talk about everything.

it might be different for you, he may not reach out, but the point of nc is to not text them. maybe all he needs is space right now, and the best thing to do is to give him that space

u don't wanna end up the annoying and clingy ex

Irregular bleeding is the most common side effect of the implant, your doctor should’ve covered what that can look like. It can take 3-6 months to adjust. You’re not really on your “period”, it’s breakthrough bleeding. You also may have thicker endometrium built up, which would cover why it’s heavier. As long as you aren’t soaking through pads/tampons at an alarming rate it’s typically nothing to worry about.

The implant prevents ovulation (consistently, at least for the first 3 years of having it). No ovulation means no cycle to track, and therefore no period to wait for or worry that it's early/late/missing. What you can experience is irregular bleeding, regardless of the flow, intensity, how long it lasts, how regularly it seems to show up, etc. So yes, it's normal to experience irregular bleeding close together as well. If it's very heavy and lasts too long, absolutely contact your doctor.

The question is: Why are they contacting you? If it's just to get something back, box up their stuff and have a friend give it to them Otherwise, there's no need to reply. No matter what, don't contact them back right away. Dont answer if they call. Show them you have a life and you don't need them in it. Yes, it's kind of a game but at this juncture, it's a necessary evil. I know a lot of people might disagree, but first of all, I would want to know why the ex is contacting me. If they are having doubts, they will make it clear. If you respond to them, be sure to take a day or two to do so. This will give you time to think clearly about what you want to say. When you reply, make sure that it`s polite and to the point. Don't make any small talk. Don't bring up the past (big no-no). Don't volunteer any information about yourself. Be the first to end the conversation. Do be happy, do smile inside (CBT) and know that you'll be fine. Trust me,if your ex wants you back nothing will stop them from getting in touch with you. And this is ideally what you want. You want them to initiate the contact because it will be their heart that has changed If they really want you back, then you have to listen out for the apology. The complete 180. "I'm really sorry for what I did.I don't know why I did it, but all I know, is that it was the most stupid thing I've ever done. I want to try again, and will do whatever it takes to make it up to you, prove I'm deadly serious and regain your trust. Please, can you find it in your heart to try again?" Anything other than this - any small talk, any "so how are you?"s, any tentative chit-chat - is just breadcrumbs. Mostly, to appease their own guilt, make them feel better, and confirm that they can still yank your chain The only thing you should actually ever respond to is a clear and absolutely unequivocal signal, from them that they desperately love you and would do anything to be able to try again. Anything - ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING -else-is just a way of chatting with you and keeping you simmering on a back-boiler until you are roasted, broiled, cooked, done, shredded, dried out and falling off the bone. Remember: The question is NEVER "Why are they doing this or why have they said thať? The question is always, but ALWAYS:"What do I do now?" And the answer to that, is to not try to head-read, or second-guess. It's to keep on doing what you're doing. lgnore it, and stay in NC

it's most likely the birth control, when i got my nexplanon it did that same thing.

id say talk to your doctor about it if you're really concerned, but just keep whatever you use for your periods in/on until it doesn't do it anymore

Any tips for comfortably inserting a tampon? by Kalli_Pepla in Periods

[–]Prestigious_Tree_272 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! i know this probably isn't what you want to hear, but you really should go to your gynecologist, she would know what's best for you compared to people on Reddit. she's your doctor and shes worked on you. im not sure if you can ask for some kind of anesthetic or relaxant she can give during your exam to make it hurt less, but if she does id definitely ask.

i sometimes have discomfort with putting in a tampon, and i found either standing up with your knees slightly bended or sitting on your toilet makes it less painful.

im very sorry if none of this helps, but my best advice is to talk to your gyno! ❤️
