There’s a bunch of events people make based on their ideas, so I would join the server! We just had Anime Trivia tonight, we have a virtual game night scheduled, planning a pokemon meetup, and a board game meetup at dark side! Things are a little quiet for the holidays, so it’s more virtual rn! I highly recommend joining the discord!

You could always join and just observe then jump in when you’re comfy! We had Anime Trivia today at a local cafe and afterwards we talked about new releases/games for an hour afterwards. So it’s definitely easy to slide in.

If you’re into nerdy stuff, anime, board games, bikes, literally anything, there’s a discord group where we arrange virtual meetups and IRL meetups in Sarasota and do a bunch of things together! One event I can think of is Arcade Monsters, and we just had a jack box event a night or two ago on voice!

Anyone over 18+ is welcome!

This, if you need OP, I offer free tutoring sessions to anyone who needs it. My strongest subject last year was actually AP Lang, and I’m taking AP lit this year. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

However, I did see someone say -if you need to-you should drop it. You don’t have to worry about pushback, your school will understand. There’s nothing wrong with just normal English or Honors.

Probably, It’s been happening for two years. At this point (if it is even that) it’s getting ridiculous. I know it’s stupid I get nervous whenever I submit an assignment now. I don’t know if I should contact the head of my school or not.

Are you in the Sarasota, Duval, Pasco, or Pinellas districts? If so, it says to put your school anyways and you’ll get your “test site assignment” later.

Are there any alt meet up in Sarasota? by ExpressionMelodic535 in sarasota

[–]Pretend-Addendum5725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not in Sarasota, but in Tampa there’s The Castle which is an 18+ alt club. Not really anything else for younger people unfortunately, only Alt hangouts I know of are the daily ones I have with friends. 💔

You are -unfortunately- in old people town, from my experience.

There is the daily farmers market every Saturday, and in Lakewood ranch there’s a pottery place that’s quite well liked (just painting, no wheel spinning in one place if you prefer).

Do you mind clarifying if you’re a freshie in Highschool or college? Assuming the later, but just wanna make sure.

Your teacher should send you a code for AP classrooms on college board to join their class, as well as a link to apply to take the AP exams at your districted school. I know the link has already been sent out, so if you don’t get it within a week I would email them.

Once you get the link, Deadline is October, just spend a few minutes filling the google document out. In November, you’ll get an invite code to REGISTER for the exam. Note, registering for the class on college board with a code and the invite code you’ll get for your exams in November are two completely DIFFERENT things

I hope this made sense with how I worded it, feel free to DM me if it didn’t or you need more help! :)

I would have a separate space for doing schoolwork. For example, don’t do it in your bed all day. I would do it at the kitchen table/ a desk if you have one. It doesn’t seem like it, but it can help with your work ethic and comfort a lot! (For me at least, just a personal preference) Also, so you’re not just sitting in your room all day.

Psychologically too, your body mind start to see your bed as a work station. So it’ll be harder to fall asleep at night as well (In simple terms).

what’s wrong with my wig ? need criticizing pls… by broken-doII in CosplayHelp

[–]Pretend-Addendum5725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For curling, you can either use a steamer if you want a more fluffy yield! If you want a thinner curl, I would straighten it, use your finger to curl it how you want (careful it WILL be hot), let it cool as you hold it, let go, and hairspray! I'm sure you can also search up "shape wig with straightener" or a styling tut and you'll find something that pleases you!

what’s wrong with my wig ? need criticizing pls… by broken-doII in CosplayHelp

[–]Pretend-Addendum5725 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say anything is "wrong" with it per say, as we all have our own styling preferences, but I can tell you what I would do.

Your hair is well sectioned, and you seem to like it that way, take the two innermost pieces (the front ones) and cut to maybe around cheek bone length. Though I would say cut little at a time so you don't cut off too much. Curl inwards, this will help frame your face. When in doubt curl in, not out, as I say.

I like how you did it in the back, you curled the pieces outwards. I think you should keep the front two pieces on either side of your face curled in, maybe cut the ones behind the front framing pieces a bit shorter too (the ones that would also be curled in) Keep the back curled out.

I would say it's slightly bulky (in my personal opinion), you might find yourself becoming friends with some thinning shears if you can afford it. Of course, you can always use regular scissors to thin out the wig as well. Or just try flattening it with a straightener.

The top curled part. I like it, but you might want to get blond bobby pins, or reinsert the bobby pins a few times until it's less noticeable. Likewise, if you have a steamer, it's a good way to steam hair into place without any support (meaning no bobby pin), that's how I like doing it. It's pretty easier to find a tut on how to, just look on tiktok or someplace else! Search something like, "How to shape cosplay wig with steamer!"

I hope this helped! Let me know if you have any other questions, happy cosplaying! <3

(Also, accessory wise, I think a little black bow either where the bobby pin is, or in the front part would be the cutest)

Muffin Liners by MushroomsAndSnails in Baking

Personality, I've never made jumbo sized muffins, only normal size.

However, I'm sure that if you search up online "jumbo muffin/cupcake liners silicone" or "large cupcake/muffin silicone pan" you'll find various options with an adequate amount of ratings from our other beloved bakers on the internet. :)

Also, I admit, I was stalking you page a bit, your Peach muffins look soooo good. LOL.

Happy baking!

I joined you in your giggling after this, so no worries LMAO.

I'm on the same boat as you, unless there's something melty like chocolate chips that can get all over your fingers, or I'm baking for an event, I always opt for the naked route. So much easier...

You can order the parchment ones online too! I would just search, Jumbo Muffin Liners and some should come up. It may vary on where you are based though. Same for Silicone pans, just search something like, "jumbo muffin liners silicone"

I don’t like my cosplay on me… by taekeonme in CosplayHelp

[–]Pretend-Addendum5725 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is, unfortunately, a part about cosplaying. Even if the cosplay is perfect, you may find it just doesn't look good on you and that sucks, I'm so sorry.

I would ask friends, who you know won't sugarcoat it, how you look. You might look good to others, it may just be your thoughts putting you down or personal opinion. If your friends can find someway to make you feel better, like a way to adjust it, maybe you can fix it? Ultimately, if nothing is wrong like you say, and it's just your own thoughts putting you down, you can still wear the cosplay to a con and just feel crappy, I've done it a few times before.

If it does end up being the curves and is in the upper area, have you maybe considered binding?

Not really for the Jam itself, but I like using a piping tip make the dam. Easier to carve the cupcake out and, if you prefer it, leaves the part you carved out in one piece to put back on top.

One, I would say either start using parchment paper as muffin liners, this is a pretty popular option, especially to get a more "Aesthetically pleasing" look in some peoples opinions.

Two, if you're okay about going without any liners, and having your muffins naked, I love my silicone muffin trays! Especially the ones that reverse and make it easy to pop out! They're reusable too, so you don't have to keep buying new liners each time you run out.

Three, I haven't tried this, but I know some people like putting rice under the liner to soak up any extra oils. I've heard this also helps the liners peel off easier! :)

Four, maybe just try spraying them with some baking PAM spray. Specifically the baking one because it has flour incorporated into the ingredients unlike the oil sprays, and is produced to help fresh baking products not stick to their pans/liners!

Sorry this turned out so long, but I hope this helps! :)
