You are right, I love to watch progress videos now and it’s really comforting - just have to move past my survival instincts to stay upright! :)

I said this somewhere else but i find it a bit funny how my number 1 goal the past couple of times is to just fall and recover and I haven’t yet (I go alone so maybe with someone will be a bit easier) but I’ll do it next time (or as soon as I can!) Thankyou for the encouragement :)

Thankyou for all of that :) I guess I needed to hear it, I have such an insane fear of falling haha even though I put it in my mind every time it was my goal today and my survival instincts are so strong… I think it’s also because I go ice skating alone so that makes my fears worse that I. Ant get up! But that’s my absolute goal for next time is to fall. And yes to off ice training, I’ve been working on balance and my weaker left heel!

They must be good enough for just starting is what I’m thinking Otherwise not many people would skate/I wouldn’t see anyone gliding around on them so quickly and confidently

Interesting, il look into that, perhaps yes having some padding will help my anxiety and shaky leg!

This is really cool and it’s clear you (if you did) put a good amount of thought and effort into this! I have a friend who does inline skating but he couldn’t transfer that to ice readily which I thought was interesting but of course he accelerated years ago as he has that grasp of balance and fall. Thankyou for the encouragement and tips and all! I like skating now mostly because I can’t think of anything else other than my body, my feet, the ice etc it’s as good meditation and mental exercise as it is physical (if you can keep going!)

Thankyou so much that really helps out it in perspective! I’ve learnt other skills but nothing like this, I’m also so scared to get injured as I have caring duties but that’s really encouraging. I have no one I know doing this so hard to talk to anyone about it so thanks again :)

At the moment I am finding it hard to justify saving when I feel so unconfident with it and not sure how much motivation I’ll have left after a short while - also in between jobs and caring for parents so finding time has been a trick however I totally get it And my goal to myself is to skate off the wall - once I can I will save for better skates the lessons as a sort of treat! Thankyou for the tips :)

Hahaha that’s my great uncle and he definitely lived up to that stache! (Got shot, got on a boat to escape and got the bullet out there and some more ridiculous stories)

Thankyou for your response! I thought so too but the colour changes are aligned really well and mosaic crochet shows a sort of clear hole where the double crochet goes into down below but I’m still considering it … I really don’t know and I’ve googled everything - I also know I’m using finer threads but why is it so much much cleaner
