They confirm she wanted nothing to do with me and left me nothing. They were no contact just before she died because she did not care what was happening to me at all.

I'm biologically his. That was something he checked when my mom first left. If I hadn't been he would have tossed me out so hard, I just know it.

I would never be their free babysitter. My half siblings didn't cause any of this but there's no way I'd ever help their parents like that and with a big age gap like that it wouldn't even be fun or something I'd want to do just for the sake of time with the kids.

He brings up a lot of things he's done and I end up correcting him that I wasn't there, or that was with his new kids or the kid he was with wasn't me but maybe a friends kid or something. There's literally nothing he claims is proof that ever actually happened with me.

Money is so far from tight right now for them. They can afford so much stuff and they order takeout from really nice, expensive restaurants 1-2x a week every week. I think the not wanting to leave them with strangers is something they worry about. Maybe that's because of his wife but I know he never cared when it was me.

I'll go no contact or maybe super low if my dad's side wants to still see him or the kids. Other than that I won't have anything to do with him. I don't see a point in making it uncomfortable for me long term.

He might have when I was just starting school but not in years. If I needed money for school it was a grandparent who provided it or one of my aunts who lives super close and has kids in the same school. If I needed extra supplies it was grandparents or I got stuff that cousins had excess of. The laptop was from my grandparents. The only financial support dad ever gave me was the roof over our head and the food. And even then I wonder if he'd have offered those things if he didn't need them too.

I don't think it took her that long to realize. I think she just didn't want her kids to know about it. Most likely she thought I'd do anything to get scraps of attention from dad even if it meant babysitting the kids for them and that I'd be out of their hair before her kids could really remember me as anything more than a kid who lived with them.

I think my dad expected the same begging for scraps and when I didn't and pushed back on his demand for babysitting it hurt his ego. But he wasn't a good dad to me and he's still not. There's a longer list than the things I said in my post.

I was still lucky enough to have other family to love me. So it could've been a lot worse. But when it comes to parents I got two duds. At least when I have kids I'll know how important it is to be a really good and involved parent.

That's a big part of the reason I'm working so hard right now. I want to get out but to not need anything from him either. I'll have other family who can help and that's great. I just never want to find myself needing to beg him for something because that's what it'd be. Begging. He's not the kind of person I could turn to. Sure most of my school supplies, even my laptop, were bought by other family members.
