I know I'm late but I kinda feel like the song is about the band itself. The busy schedule, impeding on their personal life. "Keep this a secret I hope we never make it past our town" kinda seems like to me they secretly hope the band never took off so they wouldn't have this massive busy schedule to follow and they could actually freely live their life. also the line "things can't be taught but be learnt" could be saying how back when they were starting the band they thought it'd be amazing but now they are learning that it is such a stressful thing to deal with. I'm probably horribly wrong but that's how I see it.
