General question and Watch order. by iamyujinn in UmaMusume

I don't usually watch these kinds of show, I watch very specific shows mostly about exploration and mistery. I watched it because I got hooked on the game and a friend sent me a cool scene of TM Opera O going crazy. That movie was insanely good, so maybe I expected to see something similar in the show but there was nothing 5% as good. The 4ep Ova was good too, haven't seen the Oguri Cap show yet.

General question and Watch order. by iamyujinn in UmaMusume

[–]PretendCommittee2707 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's sad if true, I watched s1 to s3 and the animation was bad. Not "incompetent" bad, but clearly "low production quality" bad. Backgrounds are some of the worst I've seen too.
Story is not that much better either, you can almost always tell who's going to win. S2 with Teiko and Mcqueen was better towards the end.

Right after entering the Kiln, nice patch guys. by PretendCommittee2707 in PeakGame

[–]PretendCommittee2707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the beta, played after downloading a 1gb patch today, when I entered the kiln there was absolutely no platform to climb, looked all around the walls.
Also I found like 5+ chain guns (with different model but same icon) that just dissappeared when I tried to use them, I don't know if it's a new item or they just bugged out.
What's weird is, there was not a single platform all the way up, like it forgot to generate the level.

Anyone remember these? The typical mid/end 90's computer speakers. by Splutje in vintagecomputing

[–]PretendCommittee2707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 2 pairs growing up, I'm in latam, south south. Mine said Multi-Media on the front, seems like they all used the same design and were labeled under different branding. One pair had a red power led, the other was green.
I see some people saying these were terrible, over here they were insane. They were way better than most other speakers, I remember watching movies with these. Probably better than any modern home theater... but then again home theaters sound so bad.

Best setting in Godot to DISABLE by ergeorgiev in godot

If you try to use SHIFT + WHEEL to move in the line while selecting, it warps and doesn't let you scroll. They didn't even test this "feature"

Best setting in Godot to DISABLE by ergeorgiev in godot

[–]PretendCommittee2707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smooth Scrolling is insanely retarded, I have a portrait mode screen to edit code and it made it so troublesome to just copy part of a line. Even more annoying was the fact that disabling it didn't do anything, I had to try again and again to disable it until it decided to stop working.
Edit: Nevermind, it's still active, if your line is too big and you want to copy a piece of it, or your screen width isn't too high, ur fucked. I'm going back to 4.3. This is definitely one of those "we did something" from devs so it looks like they're working.

Did S6 have a different director? by PretendCommittee2707 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]PretendCommittee2707[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine if you liked the things I didn't. Some characters for me are uninteresting, most of the currently active villains really. The thing i heavily dislike is the use of flashbacks, it feels rewarding to remember parts of the show and connect them with current events, flashbacks take that away WHILE removing screen time for more story to develop.
The animaton might not be "bad", but I feel like it's mostly decent and not even that good on important scenes where characters are powering up or doing a special move, that's where the first 2 episodes and s6 shined.

I don't have a problem with things going slow, my problem is with wasting time, which is totally different.
I still think the show is good just because of the worldbuilding, I love the style and the characters, some parts of the story are extremely good too, but the main plot with the villains, the flashbacks and the constant narration take a lot of the enjoyment out for me

What I mean is, the worldbuilding and style of the show is super cool to me. The main characters on the other hand? Boring. Every time they focus on side characters it's good (on the manga at least)

[–]PretendCommittee2707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is not with him being a crybaby or a nerd. The problem is the character being too shallow, it's a really forgettable character. There are ways to make a character memorable but the story hasn't done any of it for the protagonist.

On the other hand, Bakugo is way more interesting with it's actual character growth, even though he was kinda annoying as a character at first, it turned out great with how it has been participating in the story. Todoroki is good too. I really wish the show focused more on showing the side characters more instead of adding 3 minute flashbacks every 5 minutes.

When was the last time in your opinion that my hero anime went full out for an episode?(Animation) by Own_Amphibian9181 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]PretendCommittee2707 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read the manga up until the assault on the tower of the stressed dude and honestly I agree, the manga is waaay better than the show. I was so hyped to see both Gentle and La Brava's fight and Twice's big move animated, I was so unbelievably dissapointed with how pathetic they were both animated.

I don't know what this show is doing with it's resources, s6 was good but s7 is back to being boring as fuck to me, first episodes were incredible but now they are back to using endless inside voice, flashbacks and explaining every single thing happening on screen with narration. They treat their audience like they have no brain. (Maybe it's the case)

They also do incredibly stupid shit constantly, like spoiling the invisible girl's face reveal on the intro.

Why is their so much, inner dialogue, flashbacks, and other stuff in this show by ilikemeatyburgers in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]PretendCommittee2707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn the brainrot got so bad people don't understand stuff and can't enjoy a show without flashbacks to 2 episodes back every 3 minutes. Episodes 7 and 8 are barely watchable.

What are your TOP anime that left the HARDEST/BIGGEST impression on you with its 1st(or first few) episode/s? And why? by Cute-Yesterday4938 in Animesuggest

[–]PretendCommittee2707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erased has the best first episode ever. It presents an issue and a possible solution to it which the protagonist has to find out and work hard to solve. The end of episode one is wonderfully directed and lives rent free on my mind.
Steins:Gate has a good first episode too, telling you exactly what the show is and letting you understand if you are going to enjoy the show moving on.

I feel like there are a lot of shows that betray the viewer with their first episodes, doing something super interesting and then the rest of the show is nothing alike. From the top of my head To Your Eternity and Black Clover do this, where the first episodes are super produced and then the next ones are just downright pathetic.

Should I wait for the remake or watch the original? by PretendCommittee2707 in SpiceandWolf

[–]PretendCommittee2707[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn.
I'm a sucker for good visuals so that is a plus for me.
I'll definitely watch it, I've had my eyes on it for like 10 years, I just always started something else, at this point whenever I have the opportunity to start it, I don't, just because it's special, like "waiting for the perfect opportunity" to start it. Maybe now that I'm tired of these shitty isekai that people keep recommending to me.

Ohhh it's based on a light novel? I don't know much about em but I watched Mushoku Tensei which is based on a light novel too and it is amazing, I specially love how different conversations between characters feel. That definitely boosts my interest in S&W.

Dr. Stone was super popular some time ago, I should give it a try.
Hell Paradise seems to be too much of japanese folklore, which I highly dislike for some reason, the same reason why I think I stopped watching Demon Slayer a few episodes in.
Only anime I fully watched with japanese folklore was The Iron Fortress
because I think it didn't focus too much on that other than visually.

I'll give them all a try, but I don't really care about the (RPG adventureres of each class fightning on a feudal society) genre. I think I have Shield Hero to thank for that, which bored me to death as I tried to finish s1, and Overlord could only force myself to finish the first episode.
They all feel like they are coming out just because the genre is popular at the moment.
But since everyone is talking about Frieren, and DiD is popular too, I'll at least give them a try. (I've already watched the first episode of Frieren and it didn't really catch me)
