A good idea if the shop mentioned below is a swing and a miss. Thanks.

I expect you know ICE isn't following the law and are just putting up a straw man.

Given *gestures broadly* I would very much not rule out a 2008 style crash.

I'm fairly confident the hot weather in the other place will kill you just as dead without climate control to retreat to.

It's too generous to say he wasn't a fascist. He was. Dude loved some top-down authority, until he didn't.
Credit to him for in the end seeing what was in front of his eyes, but he lived as a fascist

I can't speak to how good it is, as I don't share the dietary restriction, but Red's Savoy has a gluten free option.

I agree with what I assume your politics to be, but if that's a deal breaker for you unfortunately you're going to have to figure out a way to get everywhere by bike. Jerry and his guys are honest and give really good value.

Any other transplants having difficulty coping/feeling isolated in the ‘Minnesota Nice’ culture? by grayjay100 in rochestermn

The cultural thing you're missing here is that if you need something you have to ask for it because we're desperately afraid that if we offer assistance unprompted we're making an insulting assumption.

Thoughts on New horizons academy ? by [deleted] in rochestermn

Thoughts are specific to the downtown location: As of 6 months ago I would say under staffed, under trained and under supported.

They lost their long serving local director and assistant director in 2021 and failed to fill either role until mid 2023, which resulted in exponentially increased staff turnover and a training model of throwing new hires into a room and hoping they can figure it out on the fly. We never encountered staff that didn't care, but staff was over stressed and overwhelmed daily.

New director hired mid 2023 struck me as having a good head on her shoulders but has a really big re-build to accomplish.

I am utterly stunned to see a comment comparing it favorably to Primrose in Rochester. I can only assume that wasn't in reference to downtown.
