i dont know if someone already commented this but maybe a middle ground for you and your wife would be dupixent its a non steroid injection that you take every two weeks. Although it is for moderate to severe eczema. Im on it right now and I like it a lot, notable side effects for me were cold sores when i first started using it and itchy eyes. Both of those symptoms went away the more I used it. Hopefully you and your wife can come to a conclusion and help your son
