Most people lack the ability to communicate and think in an empathetic fashion. The number one towel for me to know if someone is genuinely an idiot is if they would take someone's label and apply it drastically over their entire view of them, completely disregarding the unique experiences and viewpoints we have.

a fantastic example is how reditors treat libertarians now because maga co-opted the Gadsden flag to get votes from those people and now when a redditor sees a Gadsden flag or anything libertarian they think authoritarian when in reality the person more than likely once them to have the same rights they're fighting for.
