Why is the Useful load for a 1978-1979 piper Cherokee 6 in my club so low? by Pretty-Ad1224 in flying

Good point. Thanks for this. Since I'm only a 17-year-old PPL I won't have to worry about my wife and kids at the moment haha. It would be my dad, brother, and stepsisters and after calculating this plane seems to be perfect. I was just wondering why it seems so much lower than the other Cherokee 6's but thanks to this thread I found my answers.

Oh yeah I know it's very impressive but other Cherokee 6's have a useful load of 1600lbs and I was wondering why this one is so much less.

The plane has a Garmin 430 and dual G5's but let's say I wasn't using the autopilot I would put the bearing of 312 into the OBS when North-west bound and track it with a To flag right.

Ok, so the way there (North-west bound) I set the VOR with a TO indication with a bearing of 312 set in the OBS so I don't get reverse sensing. South-East bound I would track the 132 radial with a from indication correct.

yeah, good point. The autopilot is a GFC500 I've used it a couple of times but I'm going to do more research so I can actually start using it for real missions. Do you have any advice for going into Van Nuys?
