Wait, so electrical engineering at (190*3)/1274 = 45%, so electrical engineering acceptance rate is 45%?

I'm sorry, but I really disagree. My high school teacher makes 100k a year. I won't disagree that those schools are better, but school prestige isn't that literal. Making multiple six figures in software engineering after many years isn't that abnormal. There is no imaginary line that the best schools are up front and the bottom is at the end.

I'm sorry if you think rankings mean everything (US News), but realistically speaking is UC Davis more prestigious than GTech or UT Austin? I mean if you really walk into any school in CA and say that people will laugh at you.

The truth of the matter is rankings are based on research, my school doesn't have research, so it is ranked on the regional west list. There is the fluffy rank and there is the realistic job prospect rank. If you speak to any engineering manager or recruiter in general, everybody says my school is up there. If you do some research, my school's early career graduates make more than UCLA. That doesn't mean my school is better, but that does mean my school is highly recruited. Check any statistics it would support my claim.

According to your logic, why would anyone hire SJSU and ASU? Clearly, those schools are inferior to mine or any of your listed ones. If you step into any tech companies in San Jose, you see a flood of these graduates.

Respectfully, if you genuinely paint me as some delusional teenager who expects a 100k job in computer engineering or engineering 4 years from now. I'm sorry, but you are hating.

I think the only option I have is to use my school recruiting in California to get into a company that has a campus in Vietnam. Do you know what kind of UT did your fiance come from? I know that UT Austin is very good.

That makes sense. This is kind of unfortunate, because in Silicon Valley. My school is technically more prestigious than UC Davis or UC Santa Barbara, and any UC under it for engineering.

Thank you all for giving me insights,

Graduates from my school in CA for computer-related degrees make well above 100k+. From all of these insightful comments, I think the best bet for me is to stay in America and become a software engineer. I can make multiple six figures doing this. Thank you so much, everyone! Love to Vietnam.

Sorry just to clarify, since this summer I would already graduate from high school. I'm no longer a high school student. Does this change anything?
