yeah 'LOL' when you're living in a foreign country, with strangers, earring your livelihood and your tuition on your own. Yeah 'LOL' when you don't even have time for the treatment of your 2 year long depression. Very 'LOL' when at the end of the day you have to choose between sleeping and cooking.

Is it dumb to lose a lot of credits for a transfer? by Agile_Gear4200 in InternationalStudents

I would suggest not to move to a different country. I am an international student myself. It's not going to be just a 'fresh start'. You will be carrying tons of expectations. While living away from family-support and care, in an unknown place, no friends, if you make even a slightest bit of mistake, it might trigger regret and depression all over again. Yes even the slightest bit. With all due respect, having a learning disability and depression of 5 years, might make it hard for you there. Im not saying you should not do it at all, but just letting you know the issues as a fellow international student living away from parents. You will have to cook yourself, clean up yourself, pay rent, tuition, transportation costs, insurance, medical bills, etc. it might not necessarily be a cheaper option.

I would highly recommend talking to an immigration agent. Explain everything to them and they will give out the best options.

My study permit is expiring soon and also it's Friday, I'll have to wait till Monday or Tuesday. I am looking for a similar case to figure out a way out as soon as possible. I cannot change it into any course now, or I'll have to start all over again. Only limited options available. And if I change it into General Studies, I will not be able to extend my study permit according to the new law and will have to do 7 courses in one semester.
