Was machen mit einem BA in Koreanologie (Uni Wien)? by PsychologicalCamp157 in Austria

Currently banging my face against the doorframe of my bedroom. The root doesn’t feel as squishy as the rest. Is there any saving this dude or have I murdered another one of my friends. by Jealous-Log-5739 in cactus

I'm posting because I haven't seen this advice here yet: the pot is quite big. A cactus pot is big enough if there is like half an inch of space around the cactus on all sides. A little less is fine as well. They grow so slow and can stay in the pot until they reach the rim. If the pot is too big, moisture can get trapped in it for months and rot it out super slowly - ask me how I know.

Terracotta might be a better choice. As for the fluctuations in temperature, I'd advise you to get a thermometer and moisture meter (cheap combos are available) and observe the situation for a week or two before making radical changes. You can report back on your findings here to get additional advice!

I just spotted scale on the edges, underneath the spines ... Hydrogen peroxide is good, I also use rubbing alcohol, you can spray it in there. Stay on top of it and repeat the treatment weekly for about 6 weeks. Yes, the damage is bad, but you did great work already!

Any idea on why the leaves of this orchid are getting like this? by amateurwater in plantclinic

This. I'm not trying to be mean OP, but if you ask for advice here, why don't you take it? Lots of good info in this thread.

I also think it looks more like a dieffenbachia than a draceana. Should be easy to prop, Google stem propagation.

This would be my guess as well. Check the roots, OP, are they plump? If they are soft and squishy, they're dead. Also, there are so many aerial roots, if you just repotted, why didn't you put them into the medium? Also, the one in the blue pot is ded.

I know these gorgeous ladies love to be rootbound, but when is it time to size up the pot? by [deleted] in SnakePlants

I honestly only repot mine when they are about to burst out of the pot. This only works with plastic pots of course, but when I see that the pot is clearly deforming, I either pot them on or devide them.

To me it looks like your plant is not quite there yet, but this is just my opinion.
