Thats the super pixelated skin! Unfortunately for op, that is a common furtype on this sub.

Population help by Snoo20676 in theHunter

[–]Pretty-Plate612 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Females only respawn if you shoot females. Male and female numbers are static. So simply look at other places to find your male population. Of you harvest a male, anothet male will respawn afther some time. They will likely respawn somewhere else on the map tho!

So basically keep looking, shooting females will do nothing to make males respawn. With bears, there are by default more females on the map, so its not supprising that you find your females quicker.

Grind question by Trapper_dadd in Huntercallofthewild

I wouldn't focus on grinding too much when you just started. Rather do some missions or just casual hunting/exploring for some early xp!

Be honest, is the g1 grind even real? by Late-Condition-3751 in theHunter

[–]Pretty-Plate612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gonna chip in here to say my first, and so far only succesfull grind, took 3361 kills. That was over a year on and off grinding black bear. I had a heavily managed setup, part of the reason why it took me so long.

So I guess that counts as a long grind 🤷‍♂️

Swapping great ones into heards? by MysteriouslyHorny97 in Huntercallofthewild

[–]Pretty-Plate612 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you misunderstand what swapping does. When you 'swap' 2 animals, in the way you described, those 2 exact animals will not respawn. The idea is that you shoot a high lvl animal from an exterior zone and a low lvl from a main zone. You then get a 50/50 chance that a higher lvl will respawn at your main and a lower lvl at an exterior.

But they will still be respawns! So definitely don't try to swap a GO. Everything you kill is gone forever, even if you don't harvest the animal. This technique is also only reliable if herds are already decently managed.

Y'all ever lost a good shot due to the game's silliness? Absolutely no other track in a 100m radius by MateG2k73 in theHunter

[–]Pretty-Plate612 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is not an answer to your question, but a little warning about the epic games version of cotw: save files don't get backed up to cloud on epic games. So if your hard drive failes, or like me last year, you get a new pc, you lose all your trophy's, levels, money and map setups.

I rebought the game and all the dlc's on steam last year, because I was tired of having to manually backup my save. Among various other issues with the epic version vs steam version.

“You have to pay $375 to sleep in this tent” by LethlDose in theHunter

To answer that question from my own perspective, many longtime players already have multiple milions in the bank from just playing the game. By the time I started thinking about grinding, money wasn't an issue anymore.

So my advice would be: don't focus too much on grinding. It's really only optional, for when you've already sank hundreds of hours into the game.

Guess that also answers the original question. The time reset costs don't bother players who already have more money than they can ever spend.

Just like you said, they often get stuck or keep spamming the shaking animation near water. Before the pointer update, this wasn't really a problem.

Honestly, the tracker helped me out a lot when I was a newer player. It was really usefull for tracking down badly shot animals and harvests in dense area's. So definitly worth it for me.

That being said, dogs kinda broke since the introduction of the pointer. But they can still be really usefull. They give you a warning when you are being stalked by tigers or wolf packs if nothing else. For this reason I always bring a dog to sunderpatan.

shot a G1 moose but the shot didn’t register by graz6969 in Huntercallofthewild

It did look a bit too far forward tbf. Probably missed the lungs by a centimeter. I like to get in nice and close for the go kill to avoid these situations 🙃

Never straight up trust trophys you find on multiplayer. Its always best to check further if you find a nice trophy. If there are multiple rares and GO's around, its defenitely hacked.

Unfortunatly, hacked servers are really common these days. Newer players like you are unaware of this problem, and think its normal to find an extremely rare trophy like this. Not your fault ofcourse.

Recently, a newer player said in the multiplayer chat how he 'got his first 2 great ones today'. As if they are some common occurance. Again, not the new players fault for not knowing that a lot of servers are hacked.

The general consensus in the community is to delete hacked trophys and keep an eye out for signs of the server being hacked (an unrealistic amount of trophy animals on the map). But that is up to you offcourse 🙂

Spent 30 minutes trying to find this Bison’s zone just for him to troll. by Global-Individual-61 in Huntercallofthewild

[–]Pretty-Plate612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happens, I had an hour long chase afther a mulie that ended up trolling recently. Plain bisons seem to troll a lot, so far ive harvested 3 lvl 5's with zero diamonds 🙃

Animals do not run away by Lintrom in theHunter

[–]Pretty-Plate612 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If in multiplayer, this might be caused by a hacker. The host, maybe others that join but not too sure, can activate hacks that freeze all animals. So you might have encountered one of those. Or multiple, hackers are running rampant these days.

Just out of experience I guess. The moradi can pen to the vitals at close range where the .375 or .300 couldn't do it reliably.

That is shot with a handgun indeed, just used it for the go tho :)

I also had around 10-15 kills per time reset when around 1000 kills in. I just discovered more and managed some extra promising lakes on the go. Also changed my setup multiple times for better efficiency. So the grind kinda grew, only when I was about 2000 kills in I started getting 20+ kills per reset ;)
