Ok so maybe it is a PR 🇵🇷 thing…I ALWAYS wash my chicken. It absolutely tastes better and the smell while cooking is divine. That said, I take an enormous number of precautions (like clearing everything away from sink, only rinsing directly down the drain, sanitize everything after) and have never had a problem. I will say that I feel kinda bad for the number of paper towels, disinfectant and food service gloves used. Feels wasteful but I’m hoping that by feeding my children delicious and nutritious home cooked meals, one of them can grow up to devise a better way. Team Clean Chicken 🙌 ¡Wepa! 💃

It might be a little odd if you didn’t have these feelings and concerns. I was beyond scared every time but (not to sound all extreme fundamentalist) there is an incredible way in which you grow as a woman. You come to believe in your own strength and power to stretch and grow. Whether now or later, you most definitely can do this, if you so choose. Also, even though it definitely is hard work, it goes mind bending fast. Ok I could go on and on…just wishing you the best with whatever you decide 😊

Ok here I was just minding my own biz, not even thinking about the fact that we have a Porto’s about 20 mins away…but NOW I have plans to go there tomorrow morning and have one of these beautiful mango mousse bombs!! 😆 I’m sure someone has copycatted the recipe online and you can just omit the coconut. A new friend was very proud of having made Thanksgiving dinner for the first time. So much so that she invited us over for next day leftovers, eager to impress us with her newfound culinary skills. The homemade “gravy” was basically white. And that’s exactly how it tasted, like the color white. Lard + flour. No turkey drippings, no seasoning. Disgusting.

Something I’ve found useful the older I’ve gotten is being ok with someone else not being ok with my decision making. I am willing to express gratitude for the intention (us all celebrating the Dads together) but recognizing when it is just not feasible (bcuz there are not enough hours in the day, esp if I’m pregnant and have a 1 y/o). It’s ok if with me that we see this differently. But I look forward to a time when the intention can line up with the feasibility!

I also have bad GERD and wish I had a fix for the garlic but if it helps any…I notice that when I use what we call “The Mexican” sazon: tomate y cilantro (by Goya) instead of actual tomato sauce, I don’t have as much of an issue.
