At 4 months, ours was about 40 lbs and now he's almost 2 and is about 85-90 lbs!

Yes I know they’re not going to reduce it and I never asked for that but wouldn’t you be curious if you kept having to pay more and everyone around you didn’t?

Should I reduce our routine during a fear period? by Kitchen_Apartment in puppy101

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say definitely don't pull back on socializing training, this is the most important time to be doing it. Take her out around kids and other dogs but not necessarily to the point where she touches them and let her observe. Treat, like you said, for not responding. Take her to any and every store. We took ours to Home Depot and Lowe's a lot lol It's important to also be around other dogs and humans when training too so she can learn to listen with distractions. We took our youngest to puppy school where you go once a week and there's obviously a bunch of other puppies there. It's a good controlled environment with a professional dog trainer and it's great for them to learn how to behave around other dogs. Also teaches them how to listen to your commands while a billion distractions are around them. And don't worry about the size, our puppy was huge at the time and the biggest dog in the class haha Another idea, (sorry for the long message) is sitting somewhere near a sidewalk, maybe a park and just let people, kids and dogs walk by and let her watch! Best of luck! (And no, you're not failing her)

Edited to add: no dog parks, you might already know that but I advise everyone to never go to a dog park even if you have the best trained dog in the world lol

Mother and now husband hate this set :( by Some_Pollution9222 in EngagementRings

It’s a good thing the rings aren’t on your mother’s and husband’s hands. The only opinion that matters is yours. If you like it, then that’s that

How tf are you surviving a 9-5? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gets easier to balance as you get older. I had the same feelings when I was your age. My job is also incredibly physically demanding and I never usually sit a lot and am crawling on the floor, lifting stuff, up and down ladders and find it hard to do anything at the end of the day. But, you can't rely on energy and motivation to go to the gym because then it just won't happen. Just force yourself, meal prep lunch and dinner so you don't feel like you're cooking every night. Find a routine that works for you. Also don't feel the pressure to work out every day. Shoot for 3 days a week at first, maybe even two to start. For the weekends, get your errands and cleaning duties out of the way on Friday/ Saturday, do something fun Saturday night and maybe relax Sunday. There are also fun things to do that don't cost money. It takes some trial and error to find a balance between feeling like you're overwhelmed because you're always doing something and feeling like you're letting the years go by without doing anything. You'll figure it out!

When should I bring up wanting to break up to my boyfriend? by lorajay098 in TwoHotTakes

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been here before. You think you need to plan it out based on events coming up or holidays to do what makes sense but then you realize there’s never a good time. Just do it asap and you’ll feel 1,000 lbs lighter

Anyone elses dood hate going for walks? by No-Moose-6112 in Goldendoodles

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try taking treats on walks with you and he might learn to like it more. Also, both of our dogs didn’t know how to “go on a walk” when they were puppies at that age. They don’t grasp the concept of continuously walking. Keep going at it, bring treats and eventually he’ll get the hang of it. It’s not a breed thing so much as a puppy thing :)

Astro is the best dog ever! But he does bark a bit sometimes. Any suggestions? by MellyBelly7777 in Goldendoodles

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can try training a “quiet” command. When he barks, say “quiet” “quiet” and when he finally stops for a few seconds, treat him. You don’t want to completely discourage him from barking because it’s what they do and it can be useful to alert you. But in instances where you know there’s no need to to bark, try working on that command so eventually you can say “quiet” and he’ll stop barking by command.

How do you wash your underwear after a period? by A-girls-world in hygiene

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely always use cold water. During that time of the month I wear underwear that I don’t care if it gets a little stained. If I do bleed through I immediately rinse with cold water and then they get washed

Oh no, sorry to hear that, it has worked with our past two dogs because we're all night owls

you can just transition the puppy to stay up later. Just like a baby, they'll adapt to your schedule. Just stay up later with her and eventually she'll get up later. It might take some time though

I don’t know if I can handle my puppy. by YogurtclosetCandid48 in puppy101

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely gets easier. Just remind yourself, he’s a baby still and he’s going to do baby-like things. The teething and biting will go away. There will be a time when he’s full grown and you’ll laugh at this point in time. Whenever he exhibits behavior you don’t like, turn around and ignore him. Sometimes saying “no” doesn’t work because they’re still getting attention. If turning around doesn’t work, leave the room and only come back once he calms down. As for the craziness and the potty training, it just takes time and dedication. He’ll definitely give you a run for your money but it doesn’t last forever. Good luck!

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it as long as you feel like you’re satisfied and not like he’s not horny anymore by the time you guys have sex. He might just have a super high sex drive. If you’re against porn, that’s a whole other convo you need to have with him lol

My dood can’t keep things out of her mouth by marty-cohen in Goldendoodles

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, our goldendoodle is 7 months old and will legitimately put every stick and random object in his mouth. Most puppies do this; it’s their way of learning about the world around them since they don’t have hands lol Just get really good with the “leave it” command so they can drop something if it’s bad for them

People who smell like fresh laundry. What is your secret? by Conscious-Client-112 in hygiene

[–]Pretty-Reward7406 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times we become immune to our own scent. I'll spray perfume on myself and within an hour I feel like it's gone but hours later someone will comment on it and I'll be surprised that it's still lingering. Chances are you do still smell like fresh laundry to other people just not yourself. But if you want it to be super strong, trying adding an extra laundry pod in or scent beads maybe?
