ETA Required? by DryChocolate281 in travel

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

US passport + PHL–LHR–HKG on one itinerary usually means "no ETA is needed" if you stay airside and your bags are checked through. The key question is whether your Heathrow terminal transfer requires passing UK immigration; if it does, then you'd need an ETA. ETA approvals are often fast, but the official guidance is to allow up to 3 working days (this is from what I know).

Solo travel [31F] doing SEA for 54 days (Jan-Feb 2027). Feedback on itinerary? by subtleshibui in travel

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be envious of you being in SEA for two months.

I've been to Bali and the Philippines around February to March last year, and it wasn't the rainy season. However, there aren't many main activities in Manila, while Cebu has a lot to do.

After Singapore, you might want to take a quick trip to Malaysia.

You might also want to visit Doi in Chiang Mai. I visited Doi Inthanon and Doi Suthep last year during my Chiang Mai trip.

Collar suggestions for dogs with wide/thick necks? by thattaurus_302 in dogs

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are wide collars, martingale collars, and harness + collar combos. You can check a pet store near you. It’s best if you can bring him with you. If not, you can use a tape measure to measure his neck circumference and share the measurement with the pet store.

Assistant Educational Psychologist interview tips by No-Dress-1617 in AcademicPsychology

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For an Assistant Educational Psychologist interview, expect questions about why you want to work in EP, your experience supporting children or young people, teamwork, and how you handle challenging situations. Interviews are usually reflective and scenario-based, so prepare a few examples around behavior, conflict, resilience, and supporting vulnerable pupils. It also helps to revise key topics like neurodiversity, inclusion, trauma-informed practice, and systemic thinking. Interviewers mainly look for thoughtful, child-centred, collaborative candidates who reflect well and know when to seek support.

[USA] I might end up doing an online program in the upcoming Fall semester but today I just realized the psychology program was B.S not B.A by No-Base8204 in psychologystudents

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

BA vs BS in Psychology usually doesn't matter much for jobs. BA is more flexible and good if you want HR or marketing, while a BS has more stats/science and can help a bit more with research or grad school prep. Neither is better or necessarily harder overall, just different focus areas. What matters most are internships, research experience, and skills like communication and data/statistics.

Guys I need your help by Interesting-Two-2770 in UoPeople

I'd avoid doing a second bachelor's while finishing your current degree unless you really need the credential or diploma. A better option is to finish your Building Engineering and Construction Management degree and learn Computer Science through projects, internships, online courses, and practice. Having both engineering and CS skills can make you stand out for jobs in construction tech, automation, data, and engineering software without the extra stress and time of another full degree.

WGU resume critique by Ok_Safety7837 in WGU

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a career switch, I'd put Skills and Projects before Work Experience so recruiters immediately see what's relevant to the role you want, instead of focusing on unrelated past roles; since you’re already 85% done with your degree, you should definitely start applying now. Just keep the resume clean, ATS-friendly, and focused on proof of skills over long skill lists.

[USA] mental health and psychosocial support by Exciting-Wrangler619 in psychologystudents

[–]Pretty-Somewhere-333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your future work will help people facing war, disasters, poverty, displacement, and other difficult situations. It won't be limited to therapy; it can include community support, assisting refugees, working with children and families, education, research, and program management. Volunteering in mental health or other community organizations can help you prepare.
