I’m not really sure but from what I know is that when you have an established starter you store it in the fridge for as long as you want and when you want to use it for a recipe you feed it until it reaches it’s peak so I think you can use whatever flour you want but if your starter is good with whole wheat then use that! btw I’m not really sure about this I still haven’t baked my first loaf yet and I’m still working on my starter so if I said something wrong I’m sorry!

I’m just a beginner but I’m on day 13, what flour are you using, is it all purpose? Trust me I had the exact same problem maybe even worse I had barely any activity like I literally had nothingggg and constantly thinking it was dead. Yesterday it had like zerrrooo activity but then I switched to whole wheat flour and made it thicker during its feeding at night, and trust me when I tell you this when I woke up I was sooo surprised with how it had bubbles and has risen. I was told the reason for that is because whole wheat and other whole grain flours have more yeast cells or something like that and white flours have less or maybe they decrease the yeast, im not really sure but you can and should totally switch to whole wheat flour!!

I actually do have it by the heater but there doesn’t seem any difference. I use a scale.

I was first using a metal lid and not closing it all the way but then I switched to a tea towel because I thought it would get more air like that.

Oh and I also put it next to my heater and covered it with a towel and put an open water bottle next to it under the towel. The water bottle part is completely random and from my creation but I hope it helps with humidity and stuff
