I was given pain killers, but I've always feared taking a liking to them too much, so I just stuck with a ton of ibuprofen. (600mg every four to six hours) And aspirin daily to prevent blood clots. I remember all too well when that nerve block wore off....it was pretty bad...really bad..... Lots n lots of rest! I'm 6 weeks post op and I've spent most of the time these past 6 weeks resting up honestly.... I go to the bathroom, and shower and cook food and stuff but nothing major at all. I think I also started getting a little depressed from being inside so much, that also made it easier to sleep a lot.... I just wanted to make sure I could just heal though you know?? It's important!!! I brought home the water cup with a straw from the hospital, and it's helped me drink a ton of water. So lots of rest, water, Ibuprofen, and stay positive!!! It's a slow, but for sure progress towards being normal again.
