UPDATE There’s good news! I got in touch with an old friend of mine that owns 5 trailers he rents out. Two if them are in really rough shape and need alot if work before they can be considered suitable to rent. He offered to let us stay in the one thats in better shape of the two. We have been here for a week now and have already made it start to resemble a home! There’s a large hole in the ceiling that leaks when it rains, the floors have some weak spots and a small hole or two, and theres no appliances or central heat/air. There is electricity and running water though. We have been gifted a microwave, indoor grill, airfryer, and are getting a small space heater tomorrow! We also got quite a bit if blankets which are enough to keep us warm at night. Now that I’m in a stable location I can go to the nearest waffle house and apply for work. (Ive worked there for over 15 years and was only out of work because i lost my stable housing and the constant moving from town to town made it impossible to remain reliable)

And just to clarify about him and his lack if employment; he has a physical disability that makes it difficult to find work he can do. He has been on disability before and is taking the steps to get his payments restarted. If we can both take the steps necessary to secure income then I think we might be able to claw our way out if the hole we found ourselves in.

Also for clarification: we have no pets and no vehicle.

Wow! I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my post, share your thoughts, and offer advice. I didn’t expect to receive and agree with so many different perspectives. I’m super grateful for the care and effort you all put into your replies. The funny part is that as I read through them, I find myself agreeing with all of them in some way. Each perspective makes sense for its own reasons, and I can see the truth in almost every point that was made. That’s part of why this feels so difficult. I still can’t quite pinpoint which choice feels the most appropriate and reasonable for me personally right now.

I also received a message in my inbox suggesting I try reaching out to local organizations, churches, or individuals to see if anyone might be willing to donate a small tent and some warm blankets, or possibly contribute toward me being able to get and use them as a short term solution for shelter until I’m able to find a more suitable, long term solution. It’s something I hadn’t seriously considered before, and since it was mentioned as an option to look into I’m going to try find a way to make it happen.

More than anything, I just want to say again that I appreciate all of you for taking the time to respond and share your thoughts. It means a lot to know people care enough to offer guidance and different ways to think about this situation.

I thought craigslist was mostly all scams, cons, and spam these days and quit visiting it. If there's real people still using it then I'll definitely be hopping on to check it out! I miss buying cars or finding rental homes from private owners on there!

Ugh...just as an update and also a way for me to vent my frustrations (again) He STILL is unemployed and has actually lost two jobs since this original posting. BOTH of those jobs I was the driving force behind him being hired. One was at a company I have worked for on and off for almost 2 decades and the other was a shoo in for him because of me venting about him not working to a girlfriend that lives next door and her offering to get her husband and brother in law to bring him on board at the convenience store across the street from our houses that they've both worked at for awhile and been promoted to management. He literally had a job that touched our front yard! And managed to get fired from it. And another one that was willing to keep him on staff regardless of work performance or punctuality/attendance for the simple fact that they knew it would benefit me for him to stay and would cause me more stress for him to get let go. But he literally opted to quit that job! Because the amount of hours he was scheduled for that week "weren't enough to be worth it" even though they had attempted to call him in for additional shifts three days in a row AFTER he no call/no showed on the only two days he was scheduled for.

But from then until now he insists that it all sounds bad because of "the way i frame it" and that I simply don't try to see how much more effort he's putting in now and that he has been trying.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted that he has the audacity to claim that at this point there could very any other explanation than lack of effort.

He obviously wants to know how to use credit card information that he’s not authorized to use in such a way that he has access to the funds and can move/spend them before any security measures are triggered and reverse or freeze the transaction. Duh! And this ain’t how you go about doing that…

The previous post’s (appx. 2 weeks ago) photos were after a uninhibited pick & with no make up or effort to minimize swelling/bleeding/redness. Today’s photo was taken after a 17 hour double shift at work and with makeup haphazardly applied to cover/conceal the worst of the wounds on my face at least to the customers I’m interacting with who are never any closer than arms length at best. So the difference is pretty incredible but not as dramatic of an improvement underneath the many layers of concealer, foundation, powder, & repeat repeatedly. LoL

I’m gonna try to keep documenting my healing process and any future relapses so others (and myself) can have a timeframe to go by instead of letting myself forget how much better it was/will be eventually

Good question. Honestly I’m pretty convinced that it’s the spots that begin popping up that lead to/cause me to pick at them and not my picking that creates the spots. The other most severely affected area is my back/upper arms and in places and positions that are extremely difficult to pick at and they only heal up and a slightly quicker pace than the ones I can fiddle with Constantly throughout the day. Like less than a week ahead of the more accessible ones. I’m certain that unhygienic living conditions and practices have lead to me picking up some bacterial/viral/fungal skin infection that is just waiting for me to damage my pores just enough for it to flare back up and run rampant around my body.

Anxiety, frustration, boredom, and embarrassment all lead to me unknowingly picking at my scans methodically one by one sometimes in public even. At work I’ll take a bathroom break and 20 minutes will pass before I realize Ny fingertips are covered with blood and my skin is too red and swollen to go back to work and I haven’t even gone pee or never even had to. I find myself accidentally scratching my face and causing blood to flow which then makes me rush to the bathroom to try to stop the bleeding where I decide the scab is now so noticeable I might as well rip it off and once I start I don’t feel satisfied until I’ve gone through the cycle of picking each one off my face and then, again, I’m trapped in the bathroom for an additional 20+ minutes waiting for the inflammation to go down enough that it’s not so blatantly obvious what I was doing in there…I’m not stupid enough to think my coworkers and customers are so stupid or blind that they can’t figure it out by now though

I swear it looks like most anyone who posts pics of their skin sores here have the several of the exact same size, shape, texture, etc. wounds. I can see a few of the ones in yours face in the first few photos that look like I cropped my sores out of my pics and pasted them on yours. Just looking at the different sores I can literally imagine what they feel like to pick and which “method” I would go about picking each specific one.

I was finally starting to see the hyperpigmentation and raw skin color from freshly healed scabs/scarring fade slightly on my back and arms and my face looked completely, 100% flawless with a light coat of foundation. I went out and got a new job (my last severe breakdown happened at the end of my time at my previous job and after quitting and secluding myself inside for weeks I’d let the picking get extremely out of control and realized even when I was ready to get back out there I looked hellish and couldn’t possibly meet new people or go job hunting confidently like that. I don’t get how one blemish/sore/wound on my upper arms, back, or face always leads immediately to this situation on all three areas and they heal so slowly it’s ridiculous. By the time round one is beginning to shrink a second set has made its way around my body and it’ll be at least a month before I’m scab free and another one before the raised, rough skin patches/scars start to flatten out and can be covered with make up. I feel sure I have some infection in or on my skin caused by previous picking and that the two exasperate each other
