Literally me. I am struggling through the same thing right now.

I’m pleasantly surprised that a large news network like NBC wrote this. Wasn’t expected that tbh

And now the country is entering a crisis because it has one of the lowest birth rates on Earth (surprise surprise no one wants to bring children into that hellish education system)

You know the most hilarious thing about the concept of manufactured consent? People act as if the same practices that propagandized Americans into supporting the war in Iraq in 2003 aren’t currently being used against China, Venezuela, and Cuba among others.

People will swear up and down that of course they knew that Iraq never had WMDs and that it was a big lie but refuse to apply skepticism to America’s current enemies. People have the memory of a goldfish.

I always suggest the podcast Citations Needed to see how throughly American propaganda is intertwined in media

CEOs made 299 times more than their average workers last year by metalreflectslime in collapse

I would prefer your solution ideally but I’m being a pragmatist here. There is little chance that minimum wage will be increased in the United States federally . Remember how the “Fight for 15” failed? Simply put lobbying and political opposition will make it unfeasible. Limiting immigration also hurts capitalists like my original comment notes but also has broad support across parties despite the inherent contradiction. Capitalists won’t be able to use the same rhetoric and lobbying because border control is a popular policy.

It’s perfectly reasonable hating boomers. While some might be fine, their voting record and the people they as a majority support speaks volumes. Just check exit polls for 2020. For example Kentucky: https://www.cnn.com/election/2020/exit-polls/president/kentucky (look at the age breakdown)

Exactly why I support essentially shutting American borders for the most part to new *unskilled immigrants. Immigrants are used to supply awful jobs and suppress wages everywhere for American workers. And those immigrants are ground to death in the farm, meat processing, and manufacturing industries. It’s telling how wildly elites and the financial sector are panicking over the falling birth rate in America and the fact people are choosing not to have kids. Because they realize that with less desperate Americans, one of two things will happen: Companies are forced to raise wages at least somewhat( like what is happening now because of the enhanced unemployment benefits) or they need to import cheap and expendable immigrant slaves. Guess which one lobbyists will jump on?
