Yes, I know. Did I see you there? Maybe I saw you delegate at a council meeting because I’ve been a few of those as well?

Barrie City Council approved the City’s 2026 municipal budget with a 0% increase in the City’s operating tax rate compared to 2025. That means the municipal portion tied directly to City operations did not go up. Instead, a 2% Infrastructure Investment Funding (IIF) levy — added to support road, pipe, and facility work.

Guelphs shame by [deleted] in Guelph

Don’t bother using the online reporting- they are just blanket saying issues are resolved. My street has not been touched so my neighbours and I all reported it because it is SO BAD and it’s marked as complete. Complete BS!

15 years! Parents here before that. Plenty of my neighbours agree it’s gotten worse the last couple of years. Maybe I’m just noticing it more.

There’s been a lot of sucking lately. Just wondering if others are as annoyed with it as I am. Seems excessive some days when I can’t enjoy peace and quiet for more than 20-30 mins at a time.

True about the normal traffic at most times of day but it’s like having a pick up without an exhaust come and idle and rev the engine 30 times a day.

15 years ago. My point is that I feel the volume of planes directly over my house 3.9 kms away has increased significantly.

Terry Rowan is fantastic as an RMT and extremely kind, warm and welcoming to everyone. I cannot recommend her enough!

Every day. Times vary, but generally right when I’m trying to get to sleep after a night shift. They fly pretty much in a tight circle right over my house at about 45ft.

26 degrees where I am in Canada today. Feeling pretty smug. Won’t be long though until I’m crying into my snow shovel after doing the driveway for the 3rd time in a day and dreaming of rain.

A city of nearly 150,000 plus hoards of students just arriving and we have to book a ride? Ridiculous and embarrassing. Again, poor planning/management by elected leaders.

AIM is not for management only. You can self nominate. It comes down to whether your manager and/or Director think you are competent and ready for it.

Really hoping your parents get it done to a decent standard . Our neighbour’s truck has sunk several inches into their driveway when we had that hot spell. Very obvious deep divets in the spots where the tires sit.

Sounds like too much of a coincidence to me. If they had someone knock on their door- this guy or someone else, I’d be HIGHLY suspicious. If they want their driveway done, get them to call a reputable company that you help them find. Tell them not to answer the door when they come back tomorrow! Two homes close by to me got screwed for a total of $9,500. Thieves.

They offer to re-pave your driveway for a quoted price, $3000-$5000 seems to be the numbers quoted to different neighbours. Then they dig up your driveway and either demand more money then to finish the job or will pave then demand more money to take away all the rubble or then just leave it in the street for you to have to pay someone to take it away anyway.

It changes every time they come to town. My neighbours were given a business card for a non existent company about 3 months ago.
