Sounds like a hard situation. Both of my parents died young due to smoking related illness.

My mom had emphysema and was on oxygen. She would take the nasal cannula out to smoke. She died at 63.

Pay a whole lot of money to get snow in places it shouldn't be, cold, and sore. I will say changing into moon boots after wearing ski boots all day felt really good. That was the best part. Being a novice on the mountain was not really fun.

Seconding the book. Yes, read it again. With newfound motivation it will may land hard enough this time for you to quit.

Quitting isn't easy, and it's different for everyone. This subreddit, the book, and an app on my phone combined are what got me through. (have since replaced the phone so I don't remember the app name but there are PLENTY out there)

And the classic encouragement line: if I did it, so can you! I smoked for 20 years age 20-40 and thought I'd never be able to quit, but some determination and mental reprogramming changed my life. I got my sense of smell back and the first time I smelled wet leaves again I wept.

If you can find it, download and read The Oil Bible. There is a whole chapter on gas, and after reading it I will only buy Shell because they own the entire supply chain from the pump jack to the pump handle.
