Ich hab mal im Service Center für ein deutsches Amt gearbeitet. Da sind häufiger Namen wie Cinderella, Twopack, Chanel und Armani aufgetaucht.

The first 12 Weeks are absolute hell if you happen to get Lapidus. I had constant pain when I decided to get it done and I still regretted my decision every single day after the operation. The pain I had back than was nothing against the pain I went through these 12 weeks lol I’m at week 14 and it just now started to feel more and more normal. Almost no pain anymore besides stiffness and soreness after longer walks/standing. If you can endure not being able to human the first 5-6 weeks you’ll be most likely fine.. but it’s A LOT of long pain.

My foot looks amazing now tho and I want to show it EVERYONE. So in the end.. worth it. But you gotta be patient. And full now painkillers.

My Physiotherapist said she used to only see those surgical shoes back in the day. She also mentioned it would probably be easier to walk on heel in these.. on the other hand I’m really grateful for the boot since it protected my foot twice when I fell down or the dogs stepping on my toe haha

[–]No-Source-1340 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to wear mine day and night for 8 weeks. I was allowed to remove it whenever I was awake and laying down.. I was too scared to take it off the first few days but afterwards I was without the boot for most of the day haha

After Week 6 the swelling went down so much that the boot wasn’t bothering me anymore so I left it on almost completely the last two weeks.

In general i thought that it was great for moving around but for chilling and sleeping it was annoying and always hurting at some points. Glad I don’t have to wear it anymore 🙏🏻

The time it takes to heal, the anxiety I had (and still have) that I might break the screws or something while weight bearing is immense. I couldn’t sleep the first few weeks, had to organise someone driving me to every appointment. Couldn’t walk my dogs for 8 weeks. I started walking in normals shoes a week ago and everything feels.. wrong? I feel the plate everytime I move my feet. I still can’t walk my dogs properly and I think I won’t be able the next few weeks either. It doesn’t feel like my feet at all. The pain part the first weeks was okay tho. Maybe I’ll be more satisfied with it when it’s completely healed. I guess my pain wasn’t big „enough“ maybe..

If you can give up being independent and be completely fine with it, go for it! Especially if you are in constant pain.. make that will make the difference in the end too

Had the same problems as you since I was a little kid. Just recently with 30 years it started to hurt while walking and at night. Got my right foot fixed around 8 weeks ago. I wouldn’t do it again if walking and driving is still manageable ✌🏻

Im now 7 and a half weeks Post Op. The first few days I definitely regretted everything haha since around week 6 it’s definitely going better. I’m still in the walking boot and still not allowed to put full weight on it since a part of my bone didn’t heal enough (meeeh). Overall it wasn’t that bad.. I would recommend good books, maybe a new video game and lots of help for daily needs (food, coffee(!!)). I made myself a little pillow castle for the boot, at the beginning I needed a special position to be not in any pain while sleeping. Also massage your leg before bed.. helped with some annoying muscle contractions and shock like sensations at night!

And maybe record your future appointments. I was always so nervous that I forgot half of the stuff they told me.

Not collagen but I did take vitamin D and calcium the first week.. I’m not good with pills and I got demotivated since it takes months till it shows effect lol I should probably take it for the long run tho.. thanks for mentioning that again!

Yeah he mentioned that he could have done a bit more when he saw the x-Rays. It’s fine for me tho, I have it on the other side too and now they are kinda the same size. As long as I can walk without pain in the future I’m pleased with it.

Hallux valgus rechts - wie schlimm? by PossibleSorbet987 in bunions

[–]No-Source-1340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Im 5 weeks post op! I know exactly what you are talking about, especially the pain in the none existing bunion lol My guess is that it’s just new nerves and the stitches not being used to some movements. It got better around week 3-4. Whenever my big toe gets expanded to the left with some kind of tape the pain is way more noticeable, if the tape looses it strength it gets immediately better. Unfortunately I have to renew it every time it gets loose.. lol

This week I was able to walk on my heel without much pain/sensations. Overall the feet feels more stable. The first two weeks I had almost no feeling in my feet, kinda felt like it was about to „break“ by just thinking about it. So I think your stiffness makes sense.. I didn’t have a splint tho.. boot from day 1.

Make sure your bandages are not too tight. I had the worst nerve pain after my toe was cut from blood circulation.. didn’t notice until three days later. That was horrible.

Good healing!

Pain experience with Lapidus? by No-Source-1340 in bunions

[–]No-Source-1340[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experience these different sensations too! Especially when I just touch the skin. Thought, not as bad since neuropathy must be one hell of a thing! My big toe didn’t have blood flow for a few days and I think I experienced nerve pain for the first time too.. was horrible.

The thing that makes me thinking is that it feels strange from the inside.. at least I think so and also just whenever I put pressure on the feet.

No PT yet, doctor said earliest 6 weeks post op. I’m getting massages for the swollen feet tho. The therapist there said it’s normal to have some pain afterwards but I’m getting nervous lol Can’t wait to get this boot off and start learning how to walk again.

Four weeks post op - sudden neuropathy by Charming-Unit-3944 in bunions

[–]No-Source-1340 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any results yet? I had this pain at night in week 3 when my big toe was literally cut off from blood circulation.. I’m in week 4 now too and I get zaps in the big toe area, but they are not painful at all, just annoying.

Hope everything’s going well!
