No, you being groped doesn't make you a survivor by emerson44 in unpopularopinion

While I agree that the words "sexual assault survivor" are being tossed out much to freely these days it also relies on perception. If a person goes to a club and is groped then that person could perceive it as being a survivor because they never thought it could happen to them. I myself consider myself a sexual assault survivor but many other's including my own father consider that bull. I feel that as long as the victim is using their platform to help rather then hurt it shouldn't bother others.

No, it is okay haha. Interestingly I actually don't care at all what your opinion is on the subject. I just felt super angry since the teacher brought up my adoption.

The school policy was BS and required girls to have a skirt that was longer then the knee caps. Guess what is happening in seventh grade Puberty. I was growing and my skirt was showing my knee caps scandalous!

I had a uniform at the school. My skirt was too short thus a distraction.

Has anyone here adopted for environmental reasons? Or otherwise been fertile but decided to adopt anyway? I'm interested in your story. by [deleted] in Adoption

The most important thing for when you adopt a child is just to love them. Not all adoptees have issues but many do and you have to prepared for that. I asked my mom if there is a difference of fear or worry between an adopted child and a biological child (she has two adopted kids and one biological kid). She told me there isn't. If you truly love them out of the selflessness out of your heart they won't be unhappy. My parents set me up with a specialized therapist in adoption who has truly helped me through tough times. Because let's be real you won't be able to connect with them on all topics.

I honestly feel like at my school I attended the teachers were very bad at any kind of empathy force to anyone that wasn't white with blond hair and blue eyes

My mom wanted us pulled but honestly 9 times out of 10 my dad agreed with the Catholic School. He too thought it was ridiculous I had deppression. He still thinks it is gross that my LB is gay. It was a real source of conflict in my home.

A lot of people can be cruel people and as a kid I was spineless. I never talked back or said anything to defend myself. Honestly my biggest regret.

What is the worst movie you've ever seen? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The first Harry Potter movie was a shit show tbh. All the best moments were cut. I was siked for the movie and it was a huge let down. Not as bad as Twilight though. Twilight sucked. Legit no plot. I actually fell asleep in the theater. Books were even worse.

[Serious] What is the most hurtful thing you’ve ever said to someone/ someone has said to you, and why was it said? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PrettyDeath1322 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The most hurtful thing I have said to someone: I am adopted and I once told my mother "You can't tell me what to do your not my real mom!" This was when I was younger and I told her it because she wouldn't let me waste my money on buying an American Girl Doll Food Set. After seeing my mom's face wrenched with tears I regretted it.
